Why is Goozex so bad now?

I've been using Goozex for a several years now (2008). It started out great, like any newlywed couple. Games going out, games coming in on a regular basis. But in the last half year Goozex has been withholding in our marriage. I have about 30 games on my want list, lots of fairly common stuff too, and some that's been on there for well over 2 years. I had 1 game ship to me in the last 6 months, and even before that it's been slow.

Plus they do a poor job keeping up with price trends. I'll often see games I can buy below $25 with a 1000 point tag. For example El Shaddai is 1000 points right now when I can easily go out and buy it for $15.

Is anyone having a similar problem or a little fed up with Goozex? Are they going down the internet tubes?

I have 1500 points left. My plan is to spend the rest of my points then stop using Goozex. Glyde is the better choice for this kind of service. I've also been thinking about spending the points on whatever then selling the game on Glyde just to be done with it.

There's an official Goozex thread in the Deals Discussion section. You might get your answer there but currently, it's just a lot of people bitching about Goozex sucking or Goozex doing just fine.

People are all in the same boat--have a bunch of points so don't want to send out more games. Thus there aren't as many games being traded.

I have gotten several older PS3 games off there the past few months though. I've got 3000 some points left and I'm just trying to get rid of them as it's too slow for matches now.

Easier to just sell games on the Amazon Marketplace. Plus I'm getting burned out on gaming and don't want to get stuck with points on a game trading site if I don't game after this generation. Movies are even harder to get from Goozex than games unfortunately. At least Blurays anyway, maybe DVDs move more from people trading them in when they upgrade to Blu.

This is why I like Glyde, you can withdraw any amount of money right into your bank account. You're never stuck with points you can't spend. Another plus for me is they send you the shipping supplies in the mail with labels on them. All you gotta do is pop the game in the mail. No more trips to the post office or buying envolopes. I love it.

Bad side is you tend to take a hit on your games, but games are bought relatively cheap so it evens out.

Shipping isn't an issue for me. I bought 100 bubble mailers for $25 off e-bay a couple years ago, and just weight the game/envelope on the mail scale in my office then buy a shipping label form paypal shipping and stick it in the outgoing mail.

No reason to hassle with the post office. Just get your own mail scale if you don't have access to one and print out labels and stick it in a mailbox.

I like Amazon as I tend to get decent value for games, and they tack on a set $3.99 fee for shipping, when the paypal shipping is usually $2.20-2.50 to send first class with delivery confirmation. So the little profit on shipping helps offset some of the fee Amazon takes (15% of sales price--not counting shipping--IIRC).

Haven't been on Goozex in a while (over a year) and now realize that they inflated all the points on used games making my points worth half of what they were.  What a fuc%ing sh1tty company.  F- them.  After i get my last game from a trade i'll never use them again.

Nice rebump of a very old thread, but Gooxex was like a fad type of thing. I remember people talking about it constantly for a while anytime trading came up, but that steam started running out. Seems like the bigger they got the less popular they became until eventually it stopped overlapping. Gooxex is less popular than it was back in the day.
