why is puzzle fighter so ridiculously hard on the gba?

wow, no matter how well I do, I get beat down on the 3rd match and I consider myself a SPF2T veteran...they really cranked the difficulty on this one. anyone else notice this?
 
i lose on the first round. i cant tell the difference in the colors. the only color thats obvious to me is blue.

I usually have trouble around the 3rd match and the final match. :bomb:
 
Good, I thought I sucked. I can't beat akuma in the normal mode on normal difficulty and on hard mode, I can't get past the 5th person.

Strangely, the person who had this before me, unlocked everything. Is there a cheat for this? If there isn't....then he's good.
 
I find this game very easy eventhou I don't really know how to play... Only need like 1-8 continues to beat all the opponents.

At first I play slowly trying to arrange the colors into big blocks, but that is a bad strategy and I lose most of the time doing that. But I found out that if you drop the block faster, and randomly is ok too, if you are dropping it fast enough on both sides and not in the middle part, that ur chances of winning will be higher.

Edit: To unlock the sounds and master arcade mode, you just beat the characters in Street Puzzle mode.
 
I didn't find the game that hard. It only gets really challenging when you fight Akuma. Then again it is one of my favorite puzzle games, and played it almost every day my first 2 years of high school. I've unlocked everything in that Street Puzzle mode already. Everyone plays differently, and popping all the gems as you get them isn't always the best strategy. Knowing what colors your opponent drops frequently helps a whole lot.

It took me under a week to fully beat Street Puzzle Mode. Just like when you play Megaman, you just got to keep trying and you will win.

Just out of curiousity, are you playing on a GBA? SP? DS? Gamecube+player?
