Back in the early 90's I would be playing Super Nintendo with my cousins and siblings at family gatherings while the adults sat in the other room yapping about adult shit.

Now my point.

Yesterday after a family event we gathered back at my parent's house and us "kids" were stuck in the living room while my uncles and father played the damn Wii for hours.

Nintendo's mass appeal has put us real gamers in our place I guess.

XD!!!

I know exactly what you mean. Im not too into the "mainstream" Wii games, like Wii Sports or Wii Play (although I have both)... but my family keeps wanting to get me to play them and I dunno, they're not for me I guess.

Plus, when we were out to dinner a couple weeks ago, my parents, sister and brother in law (20 years older than me) were talking about Wii and video games. W-E-I-R-D. People who have barely had the slightest interest in video games are now talking about it more than me.

I got my older (26) sister to play Wii Sports and she hit one of my wiimotes against the coffee table. Now it's scratched.

I'm lucky my mom doesn't know how to turn on the Wii (as far as I know).

I convinced my mom and grandma to bowl, it was quite an experience. My grandma was using 2 hands to control menus and couldnt beleive the motion sensing and onscreen cursor.

Back before the Wii came out, my girlfriend would sit in the chair in the corner of my room surfing the web on my laptop while me and my friends played smash brothers for hours on end. Last week, she brought 3 friends over. Before long, I was the one sitting in the corner with the computer while they played wii sports for 2 hours. On a positive note, her sorority bought a Wii for their tv room, so maybe they'll have their bowling parties over there from now on.

If I were you, I'd sabatage that sorority Wii system so the girls come over more often.

The Wii has turned my grandmother into a gamer, and that is just fucking insane.

My mother is into Wii Sports, as well as Bomberman on the VC.
