Wii controller help

Gumshoe

CAGiversary!
Yes, I know. A question about a last-gen console.

But I'm dusting off a lot of my Gamecube classics to play on my Wii. My GC controller chord, however, is far too short to reach my chair from my entertainment console. Yeah... first-world problems.

So, are there any wireless Wii controllers that work for Gamecube titles?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Sorry to say it but there isn't. When you play a GameCube game on your Wii, the system will act like it's a GameCube. So all Wii accessories will not work when in GameCube mode. Your best bet is buying a Wavebird. It's essentially a wireless GameCube controller just without the rumble. It's a great controller since Nintendo made it themselves but be prepared to pay about $25-30 for one.

Personally I just buy cheap cable extenders such as these (Amazon has tons of options, some multipacks from vendors) to add onto your existing Gamecube controllers, I don't like to use wireless unless I absolutely have to (and I even have a Wavebird). You even get to keep the rumble if that's important to you.

I don't know how good of quality they are, but Best Buy used to have their Rocketfish wireless Gamecube controllers for $14.99 (link is from Amazon, Best Buy removed it from their listings), but they may have been all cleared out by now.
