A promo dvd from Activision showing some Wii game trailers. It scanned for $0.01, but the CSR just gave it to me. I initially hoped for a Wii disc within, but it's just a regular dvd. Too bad...

I picked one of these up yesterday for a penny. The trailers aren't much to write home about, but at least you get a white DVD case on the cheap.

? Why? Then you couldn't do anything with it for 3 weeks.

Just because it would be cool to have a Wii disc early I suppose. But it would hardly make sense to put a promo for the Wii on a disc you could only play in a Wii, now would it?
Can you just go in and get the giftcard like a normal GC, just put like $.50 on it?
I put a dollar on mine. The check out dude was baffled until I told him that I'm getting it for collectibility. He was cool with the idea tho. :D

Well, at least your target isn't an idiot like mine. For some reason underneath they are charging it 49.99. When scanned it is .01 They made a huge deal about it and were like, well underneath it, it says 49.99. They brought out the head of electronics guy, which absolutely had no idea what it was.

I told them...look, it's not even a game, it's nothing but a trailer, probably on a DVD for you to watch and want to buy the game. Maybe it's 49.99 if it's money down on one of those game or something. They just looked at me like I was crazy. Yeah, tons of people are gonna be buying it for 49.99

It was originally marked $49.99, but price-changed to $0.01 shortly after the endcaps went up. They are meant to be sold for $0.01, the original $49.99 was just an error. I'm pretty sure the price change happened before the DVDs were even in stock, and labels that read $0.01 were -supposed- to have been printed and placed over the original.

Well. I'm going to Target this weekend and pick up a couple. Looks like they are good for replacing broken Disney DVD keepcases ;)

My Target is now out of the cool giftcards. There were at least 30 of the DVDs, no one had touched them due to the $49.99 price sticker underneath.

I picked up two extra, if any CAG wants one, PM me.

I got a few of the DVDs, mostly for the cases. They're a little flimsy, but I can't complain too much for $0.01. They were out of the gift cards, but they said they might get more in.

I picked up a Gift Card ( I put $25 on it to pick up the zelda controller covers later) but the guy at the electronic counter said the DVDs weren't coming out for another couple weeks.

The idiots at Target wouldn't sell it to me. The cashier called a manager over when the $.01 price came up. The manager called someone over the walkie-talkie, and they collectively decided that they aren't supposed to be selling any wii games yet, so it's not coming up right in the system. They radioed to electronics to pull them all off the shelves. Idiots.

Yes thy are idiots. I went in around 9:30 this morning to score some of the 75% $1 items for my wife's class. Well the girl checking me out was in her second day and getting trained by a manager. The manager saw the discs ring up and was about to stop the transaction, but I explained they were preview discs and not games. Kind of funny how something rings up a penny and they don't want to sell it, yet something rings up no longer in system and they make up a price and let you have it. I realize they're not entering in a penny it is the principle of the transaction. The item rings up for $.01 and the display sticker says a $.01, so common sense says I pay a fucking penny.

It's sad really, because if the specialist/team lead for that area actually kept up with things they would know that it was supposed to be $0.01, there was even a news thing sent around more than a week ago about it.

Picked up a couple of the Wii Trailer discs and a giftcard. The cashier had to call a manager over because of the $.01 price. He called someone from electronics and they ok'd it.
