So I asked this question just after the name was announced and thought I'd ask the question again now to see if opinions have changed in the interim. Please give this one a vote before checking the old thread.

Maybe there should have been an "indifferent" option for those of us that don't really care about the name? I guess it's an alright name, I could really care less though.

TOMMY WANT WII(ngy)
It fits. Wii as in "We" includes everyone which is what Nintendo is doing and what will happen. I can so picture my mom playing Wii Sports.
This is an excellent point I think is being missed in all the hype leading up to the Wii. Wii Sports looks like the kind of game ANYONE can play. Can you imagine another such title for any system in recent years? I can see grandparents, parents, little kids, teens, etc. all enjoying it. With Wii Sports especially, I can see anyone picking it up and learning to play almost instantly.

I admit I hated it at first but its grown on me like some cancerous tumor and now well I almost like it. I won't like it they keep their stupid Nintendo naming conventions and try to incorporate the name into every game. EG. Resident Wii-vil. Now I will never get used to that mickey mouse bullshittery.

I just wish they named N64 "Ultra Nintendo" but then what would Gamecube be called.. and Wii... Normal Super Ultra, what is next? Mega Nintedo (Gamecube) Omega Nintedo (Wii) lol.. then the next one would be ∞ Nintendo. Who knows but I loved how it went Normal Nintendo then Super. N64, Gamecube and Wii... meh don't like but overall they are ok.

I chose "I like it" because there was not an apathetic option. I've gotten used to it (just like everyone will get used to the price of fill-in-the-blank by November).

My wife on the other hand still finds it to be the stupidest name ever. But, she humors me. ;)

No 'meh' option was offered by design. Just like the first poll. If you don't have an opinion on the name no real need to vote in a poll soliciting an opinion on the name.

I'd be very surprised if the name is any sort of factor in any CAG's decision (or maybe I should say more than a very small number of CAG's decision) to actually buy the console or not, but it's still interesting to see if opinions have shifted on it.

So far the results are quite a bit different from the 1st poll, not surprising.

The name is arbitrary. I have decided to start calling it "Super Magical Wonder Box". On launch day, I will go up to the counter and say, "I'd like to pick up my Nintendo Super Magical Wonder Box, please", and see if it catches on.

No doubt that will be the name on the box from the second shipment on.

I have faith.

Wangmote is already catching on.

At first I hated the name "Wii" and everything about it, but it's grown on me. For one thing, I realized that naming the system something so incredibly strange in any country was part of Nintendo's strategy; Google results for "Wii" and "Nintendo Wii" doubled within the first day of the announcement. It doesn't roll of the tongue, but I can see where they were going with it.

So, I picked "I like it". There should've been an option for "I don't hate it". ;)
I still don't like it.
Revolution was 10x better, but I definitely have gotten used to the name "Wii."
I was thinking the same thing
