Wii in stock Gamestop

Best Buy (on Fri) had a few pallets of them . . . but I bet they will be scarce after this weekend.

Why wouldn' it be popular? Accessible to capture the casual gamer (or even non-gamer) . . . cheap enough that hardcore gamers get one as a 2nd or 3rd system.
 
Agreed. Every big electronics store (from BB to TRU) I went to yesterday had Wii in stock. In fact, everyone is gearing up for BF sales and stock of everything is at unprecedented levels.

And this is not a deal. :p
 
I have no interest in a Wii, but I, too, think it's crazy that these systems are still never in stock and/or hard to get.

My friend, who already bought a Wii, likes to go around when she's in a store and ask if they have Wiis in stock just for the fun of it.

Some people are interested in this. The more you knock people for posting, the less they will and the less deals we'll see. You might not want a Wii or might not think it's hard to get but some of us do want one and can't find one. Thanks, OP.
 
Why not post this in the WII SECTION and start a thread like "WIIS AVAILABILTY LOCATIONS" or something.

This isnt a deal, its retail price.

Then this should be posted in the nintendo section or do what Iced2dragon suggested...just because some ppl may be interested in this doesn't make it a deal...and imo the less ppl that post "X item available at X retailer for msrp" threads the better off CAG will be (to offense to you OP,as there have been many,many ppl to do this before you)...
 
For the record, I don't have a Wii but there are some games I'd like to check out. I know it's cool to bash the system now but I didn't drink that Kool Aid sorry.

Some people like walking into a store and buying a console. They might have questions about accessories or they might want a warranty. I'm not saying that GameStop is more deserving of our money or that the Wii is super duper hard to find but someone might find this information helpful and why should we sit and bash someone for trying to help.

Jesus, this site is going down the toilet because everyone wants to act like they're too fucking good for everything. The Wii sucks because it just has casual games. The 360 breaks all the time. The PS3 is too expensive and all the games suck except Metal Gear. The PSP doesn't have any good games. What the hell are you guys playing? With yourselves?

EDIT -- If you don't think it's a deal, don't buy it. No one is forcing you to open the thread or putting a gun to your head forcing you to look. There might be a better place for this thread but I still don't see the problem with having a high demand item in the deal section. I'd much rather hear about this than the next crappy game that's only $10 with free shipping if you buy a stick of gum with it.
 
Seriously, how the hell could any still possibly care? Despite being a over-priced complete piece of shit system, they are sitting on shelves, in great number, all over the place. The TRU in my town had, and I kid you not, 124 units in stock on Saturday. Just because the douchebag CO of gamestop says they'll be had to find, doesn't remotely make it true.

Yet lacks any good games besides Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy & a couple of PS2 ports with the remaining 99 percent being shovelware. But whatever, casuals & non-gamers think simple circles & lines is a revolution & nothing can change their "opinions"...

& I agree that this doesn't belong here. Since when did being in stock & still sold at MSRP mean its a deal?

1. Yes, someone might find this information helpful... at the wii section! This is not a deal, its MSRP + taxes (maybe amazon.com could be considered a deal but that was abused with too many threads).

2. No, this site is not going down the toilet. This complaining is created because mods do not delete the "wii in stock threads". I understand your point of helping other CAGS but I think most CAGS that want a wii, already have a Wii. Its about doing what the masses want (we are tired of wii in stock threads).

Sorry, couldn't pass this up. I do own I Wii, and it is the worst system I have EVER bought, and I own a fucking Virtua Boy. I don't bash it because it's "cool" to do so. I bash it because it is a piece of shit and destroying gaming for those gamers with IQ's over 80. Bad, simple games are not "casual", they are just bad. The 360 has dozens of great "casual" games. And anyone looking for info on anything should stay the fuck out of gamestop. They give intentionally false information on every other sale. And most places have a warranty... And the 360 does break all the time... And the PS3 is a Blu Ray player that just happens to play a couple of games as well... Badly, at that, if they are mutli-platform. The PSP has plenty of good games, but very few great ones. And how the hell does anyone play with a DS Lite? That is the worst fucking D-pad since the Sega Master System. And people give the 360's shit...
 
Great. So you hate everything. I've played Wii Sports, Resident Evil, Tiger Woods, Mario Kart, and Mario Galaxy and I had fun with each of them. Isn't that why we play games?

And the Wii didn't destroy gaming, it's the hardcore assholes that bash anything that's innovative and new because it's different but then get all pissy when old franchises change.

It's like saying that slapstick comedy and the action blockbuster destroyed cinema. No, they make the money so studios can finance the art piece that only hardcore assholes go to watch. It might be high art but there's not a car chase or gratuitous tit shots so people don't buy tickets like they did for Stallone or Schwarzenegger movies. Does that mean that all movies are dead? No. And gaming isn't dying either. Your ability to have a good time did though.

Would you please write something up for the site that explains where you would like everything posted? Please be VERY detailed in your write up, as we don't want to waste any more of your time.

Granted, I am a bit slow in the head.....but, I do not see an obvious board location for instances such as this post. Maybe there needs to be an "availability section" on this site?????

You have been completely out of your element throughout this entire thread.

As for the OP, the community isn't upset with another member trying to help them out. It's more of an annoyance that this specific "deal" keeps lacing actual deals which eventually discredits the deal forum as a whole. We'll move on, and maybe at some point there will be a sticky to help prevent this crap from continuing.

hes been around for a year plus. hes not new. you're encouraging people to not follow the code of NOT POSTING RETAIL PRICE DEALS.

Last time I checked, WIIS are 249. This is 249. its not a deal. it belongs IN THE WII FORUM..

I don't usually go to GS so the fact that they have the console by itself is news to me and might qualify as a deal. Why is it that just you and a handful of people that aren't even mods the only people that can say this is a deal or not?

I understand you guys don't think it's a deal and that it should be moved but wouldn't not posting accomplish what you're trying to do? Let me bump this up so everyone can see it's not a deal and people will think I'm the Forum Overlord.

If you don't think this is the right spot, send the OP a PM and notify a mod. You want everyone else to follow protocol but you're too lazy to do what you're supposed to do when you find a post in the wrong forum. Hell, maybe you did do that and there wasn't a mod around. What do you do? Don't post....

As for the Wii thread, people just want to go to the deals thread to find out about stuff like this. Go into the Wii thread and you're liable to be kidnapped by bitter people that will tell you the Wii isn't any fun. Why would even want a Wii? It's killing gaming! I don't want to hear that crap.

One solution is that OP could've dated the title. That way, you can see if it's old and people have just been bumping the thread to tell everyone it's in the wrong forum or how it's a horrible gaming system that's only offending my hardcore sensibilities.

Actually, no, depascal22 is pretty much right on with most of his points.

We've been through all this before. We even asked Cheapy what the official word was on Wii availability threads and he had said it was OK since they were so hard to find.

I do agree that they seem to be nearly everywhere now so maybe it is time for that to change - but probably we ought to hold off on that till after Christmas. I can say for sure that I'll be nuking any "Wii in stock" threads myself at that point.

And oasisboy - you could hardly be more off the mark. The mods here lean 360 if anything (and so, clearly, does the boss man himself).

Of course all you people that want to bag on the Wii or the OP or these types of threads do realize that the more you complain in here the more the thread gets bumped up (which depascal22 also pointed out in his edit above as I was typing this ;)). If it is "not worthy" of being a CAG deal it will die off by itself - not everything needs mod attention. This is the only thing that has bugged me about CAG over the years. Mods are so quick to lock or move threads. If there is no interest the thread will die by itself--if people post to it, then it probably has value (i some way).

I'm pretty casual in my use of the site these days. So, I benefit when people post that game x is on sale this week at Target for some low price. But then a mod locks the thread because it is mentioned in the Target thread (which I don't read because most of the "deals" aren't deals).
 
I can't believe people are posting the same shit after all this time and I'm definitely not referring to the OP. Shouldn't you be playing your beloved 360's?
