This video shows one working and has a link to the Newegg page:

I ordered one, but Newegg sent me the wrong one, so I had to RMA it to get a new one. :wall:

From what I've read everyone who got in the first newegg shipment got the correct one, but everyone else got the wrong one. Sadly I didn't order until it was too late.
Hopefully when I get my new LAN adaptor from Newegg it will be the correct one.
I got the correct one from newegg a few weeks ago. Works like a charm on my Wii.
Same here. I have only had one minor issue with it and that was when the wii browser crashed, the WII USB drive didnt pick up the signal from the adapter, i had to unplug the console in order for it to work again, odd but the adapter works great all in all.
Apparently, judging by the Newegg site, no one got the right one.

Is there any place B&M to buy this?

I don't know where you can buy that in store, but if you want that one directly, call this number 626-573-3764. They'll make sure you'll get the right one.

This other adapter is confirmed on the Nintendo boards to work. I think it uses the same chipset or something.
If there's a Frys near you, they carry it.

Actually, here's a list of compatible adapters for the Wii.

Just order from Nintendo. It's supposed to ship this month, probably it'll be a bit backordered like the component cables were. I ordered both last week, the component cables have already shipped.

Some third party adapter may or may not work, could quit working at any time with a firmware update, etc.

Thanks, comes to $20.20 shipped by second day air, so I'll order this tommorrow and will probably have it by Friday.

Cool man, enjoy online!

Any idea if that's compatible when the Wii is in GameCube mode? Buy a second copy of a game like 1080 or Mario Kart, and you could do a LAN game, if you already have a GameCube.

Bah, it's backordered... for some reason the link is dead to that Kinamax one from Amazon, too.

I'm getting my replacement one from Newegg on Monday. If they send me the wrong one again I'll have to order the Nintendo one.

You will probably get the same one again. The item number for both the wrong and the right one are the same (Kinamax NT-USB20), as if Kinamax made a new model based on a newer chipset (which apparently isnt Wii-compatible). If you look at the link posted in this thread for the Kinamax at Newegg, you'll see that the product pictures NOW match what a lot of us received (which doesn't work on the wii and isn't what was pictured when we ordered). I ended up returning mine for a refund and raised enough of a strink about the product description not matching what I received that I got them to reimburse me for the original shipping, the return shipping, and they waived the restocking fee.

If I do get the same one again I guess I'll make a fuss about it like you to get my shipping money back and so I don't have to play a restocking fee, since in both my RMA and an email I told them specially I needed the model shown on the picture because it was the only one that works with the Wii.

If you are tired of waiting for the ethernet adapter the Nintendo USB WiFi Adapter is a great solution that I went ahead with.. just plug it into your computers USB port and you can configure your wii to use it.. Just go your connection options on your wii and select usb wifi adapter; works perfectly for me. It says it's for DS but it works fine with Wii - it's 40 bucks but for me it beats having a wire hanging all the way from my PC to my Wii.

Mine works perfect for the DS but it's picky as hell with the Wii... when it was connected to a USB port to the back of my computer the Wii wouldn't detect it AT ALL. I had to use the included USB cable to loop it around to the front so the Wii can even detect it.

I like it and all, but it's just extremely picky. Not to mention your computer has to be on if you want to use it.

I sure as hell wouldn't ever pay $40 + tax for it... I got mine for $25 shipped from someone on here and that's about what it's worth.

Guess I'm fortunate cause it's I have yet to experience any trouble w/ it. I leave my computer on 24/7 so the having to be on problem doesn't exist for me.

I ordered the Kinemax one from Newegg and received the incorrect one as well.

The woman whom I talked to about it said it is an issue with the manufacturer and that the page will be taken down... she just gave me a refund and let me keep the wrong one.

I ordered the Nintendo one from their store today. Whenever it ships is cool with me, I suppose.

Now I need to know when they'll introduce S-Video cables.

i swear this is backwards--having to pay for a wire connection as opposed to wireless. But I love wired stability so much. *sigh* plunks down the $25.

I got my Newegg order today and it was the wrong one. I sent them a nice email explaining the situation and they gave me the refund and let me keep the adapter. I also ordered the Nintendo one, can't wait to get it.

I have a router, but I don't have the WEP code. If I reset it, will it mess up my internet? Should I just get a lan adaptor so I wouldn't need a WEP code?

Yes, the WEP code was saved on my laptop, but it broke and I didn't write it down anywhere and no one in my household knows the code. So will the Lan Adaptor solve anything?

You could try accessing your router through a wired computer web browser, try typing in either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 into the address bar and you should get into it. You may need to put in a password, usually it's something like Admin/Admin but you may need to look it up online if you left it at the default. When you get in you should be able to find the WEP key.
