Wii launch felt...rushed?

^^

Namco's president once said "When you develop for Nintendo, your biggest competitor is Nintendo." Now this says two things:
1. Nintendo makes quality software
2.3rd parties need to fucking step it up.

Yes.

People bemoan the state of 3rd party software on the cube, but if I felt like 3rd parties were making anything I wanted to play, I'd be more concerned. The best software on any system comes from 1st and 2nd party developers. The notable exceptions to that for me from this past gen would be Ninja Gaiden and the Burnout series. I wish I could say some Sega titles, but wow, they've sunk low.

Not arguing that 3rd parties aren't important, just that I've not seen much that might have been on the Cube that wasn't. Of course, I'm speaking from games I personally want to play. I understand that if a company doesn't make fill-in-the-blank movie-based horrible game for a system, that's some mind-boggling sales you're missing out on.

I feel that the only thing not present with the launch of the Wii is online multiplayer which might be a good thing that will allow Nintendo to make a better online system than the friends codes.

I honestly think that you will find alot of people saying why mess with the "Wii"

People that play it will have fun and it will have a what seems like Game of the Year title at launch aswell as many games to give you a different experience. THe actual design of the system shows Nintendo's shift away from the "toy" maker and more into entertainment.
Hell, we don't even get the nice Wii Play + free remote deal that Europe, Japan, and Australia get - instead we get Excite Truck.
Is it confirmed that we won't get it? I was really hoping we would.
