That was only confirmed for Europe, though it wouldn't surprise me to see the same pricing structure here. Siigh. NES games are like.. 20ish blocks. C64 games have to be like... 10-15? *shrugs*

REGARDLESS, we STILL need more storage. They are doing a fine job of giving us stuff...we just have no where to put it all :(
Storage is priority.
True, but the release/pricing schedule and need for demos also deserve attention. I don't care what the suits say: releasing games 2 at a time is bullshit, and making it so that I can't try them out is bullshittier. When you don't allow demos and you don't provide variety, you're making it just about impossible to reach the consumer who doesn't obsess over VC/Wii Ware on the internet. They're locking themselves out of a potentially bigger market with these tight-assed habits of theirs.

As much as I would love VC demos, there needs to be demos on WiiWare games. Seriously.
You can come to this thread and ask a question about Donkey Kong Country 2 because you never played it. There might be a handful of people who HAVE played it and can tell you a lot about it here, let alone anyone else who may have played it. WiiWare titles are new.. so.. yeah..there's really not much to ask :whistle2:(

This week's releases in Europe:
Street Gangs - NES – 500 Points
Adventure Island - NES – 500 Points

BTW, Street Gangs is the name of their River City Ransom.

Oh wow... hope river city ransom hits US. it'll be the only other NES game I'll pick up alongside my Zelda.

Looking very much forward to Wii Ware. Seeing as the only stuff Iplay on my 360 now is XBLA games, I think WiiWare will make me play my Wii more than I use to.

I downloaded Phantasy Star II today. I'm excited. Especially because I just beat Pikmin today after getting it on Sunday (I know I was really slow on that one). I should beat Breath of Fire II first as well.

Although, when I was downloading it, ya know how Mario runs across and sometimes he has the fire flower power up and you can shoot them. Well, this time Mario and Luigi swam across, and missed most of the coins. I thought that was amusing enough to share. Are there a lot more animations that I'ven't seen?

I've never seen that one... I'm wondering the same.

I've only seen..
little Mario
big Mario
Fire Flower Mario
Big Luigi (or it may have been small, I don't recall)

I wonder if the animation means anything. Like a GREAT connection, HORRIBLE connection.. OK connection? *shrugs*

This is what Wikipedia claims about the download animations:

Downloading
During downloads, an 8-bit Mario runs across the screen collecting coins, representing the download's progress. Every 33%, Mario will hit one of the three blocks on the screen. The third and final block is a multi-coin block that Mario will stand under and continue to hit from 99% until the download is complete. Pressing button A will make Mario shoot fire balls if he is Fire Mario. Sometimes, Luigi appears in place of Mario, or both Mario and Luigi will swim across the screen. There are six different animations, some appearing more often than others.
I'm still waiting for the Peach + Mario bed scene.
You only get that one once you've downloaded ALL the VC games.

 Nope, just when you buy DKJr Math ;)

I even checked Wikipedia. I looked at the virtual console page and not the shop channel page.

I remember reading an interview with one of the Wii developers --it may have been one of those Iwata Asks features-- in which it was stated that the swimming animation is the rarest one.

I've downloaded about 12 times and never seen anything other than the default small Mario.

I have never seen the swimming one. I've downloaded quite a lot from free points in the past year and have seen all the other ones. Someone needs to put a youtube video up of the swimming, otherwise I call shenanigans.

I've never seen the swimming one either - I got fire Mario once and otherwise it's been just big or little Mario. I think I read the same article as rapsodist.

Wii-kly Update: Two New Classic Games Added to Wii Shop Channel

This week’s additions take players on a psychedelic trip down memory lane. Kirby® is back and armed with a bunch of new talents, including the option to combine abilities. Curious to find out what mixing the Burn and Cutter powers gives Kirby? We won’t spoil that for you here. If the colorful landscapes in the pink sphere’s world are too much for you and you’re looking for straight firepower instead, then try plunging your soul into the mind of a twisted demon. We’ll just see how you fare against wave after wave of bizarre enemy creatures in that kind of environment.

Nintendo adds new games to the Wii™ Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week’s new games are:

Kirby 64™: The Crystal Shards: (Nintendo 64®, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points): Kirby’s first 3-D adventure is also his Nintendo 64 debut, and it finds the always-versatile hero battling a new enemy called Dark Matter. Dark Matter is after a distant land’s powerful crystal, but a young fairy named Ribbon attempts to save it by escaping with the gem to Dream Land. Now the crystal has been broken, and it’s scattered around the world. Take control of Kirby and help him journey across six worlds, battling a wide variety of enemies and challenging bosses, as he tries to collect all 100 pieces of the shattered crystal. Along the way, you’ll use Kirby’s trademark copying ability to use enemies’ strengths against them. Not only that, but try combining any two abilities to create a brand-new one that is usually stronger than the original. Throw in three exciting multiplayer minigames, and you’ve got a package of which even King Dedede would be proud. Fans of Kirby and action games with bright, colorful graphics should vacuum this one up.

Psychosis: (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone – Mild Fantasy Violence, 600 Wii Points): This is a side-scrolling shooter played in a world created from the mind of a twisted demon. Your soul has suddenly wandered into that evil world that exists in every person’s heart. The only way out is to blast your way past the grotesque creatures that block your path in five “causes” (stages). You must face the dangers of this psychedelic world by making full use of three shot types and the satellite option. With power-ups, you can change your shots to a wide-coverage beam, a satellite-generated laser and more. Each shot type can be powered up to three levels. You can also block enemy fire by rotating the satellites to a desired position. How you use these features will be the key to successfully escaping this strange and surreal world.

I never played Kirby 64. Maybe I have ::shrugs::.. Anyone have thoughts on this? Seems like an OK week. Glad to see more N64 games.

Kirby 64 is a great game, but it's insanely easy, as Kirby games usually are. The minigames are hilarious and fun, though.

I've also already got it, barring my brothers haven't destroyed my N64 in the 2 months they've had it.

I have like 12,200 points. I think I can afford 1000 to try this out.. lol ;)

It's ashame that I have like -200 blocks though.. :headache:

In for Kirby 64.
I would kill for FF6 (or 3 whatever you wanna number it) and Chrono Trigger. Seriously. Kill.
I'm sure that Square will release a DS remake for FF6 in a year or two considering the current trend.

Question: Is Kirby 64 as fun as the NES one on the VC?

I am on the border on this one because it is half of a points card but if it is as fun as the NES one will buy it no doubt.
So what exactly is RCR? A beat-em-up?
its a beat em up with rpg elements and a cliched but funny story line.

I just got the cart from an ebay lot auction.

its even better, here's why

two words
Powers mixing

you can mix powers (and not like the crap in the DS game) REAL mixing, every power can be mixed with EVERY OTHER power to make even more new powers, if I remember correctly my favorite is fire + rock = VOLCANO
