But I dont see an IR port on the front of the Wii... How would this work?
Probably sends the Wii a BT signal.
The IR is for the TV.

I don't know how it would work. Dallow was the one saying you needed the remote control wiimote. I'm just saying it exists, or so is thought at the moment.

The vc is a failure without the snes mariokart online.
:drool::bouncy::bomb:
I mean if they are really trying to preserve the games they would let you use oldschool controllers right?
I feel like I got ripped off.

I already have that controller. It is the hori controller they had for the gamecube for a while. This one is just painted to look like the SNES one. I want a true wireless classic controller. I'd pay $40 for that.

When did Hori come out with a GCN controller that was exactly like the SFC/SNES controller?

I own this: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-23-49-en-70-21i.html

But the button layout is still fitted to the GCN. The new Club Nintendo controller has the exact SFC/SNES layout, and is, to my knowledge, a Classic Controller substitute that jacks into the Wii Remote and not the Wii's GCN ports.

Yes that is the one I'm talking about. I guess I didn't consider the button layout. I used mine mostly to play NES games, so I only needed to use two buttons and never really cared about the GCN layout.

Well lets take a early bet, since Smash is out on Sunday what crap do you think Nintendo will release this week?

I expect crappy a TG-16 shump and bad NES game.

There is to be no more speculation in this thread, I forbid it.
Common sense just doesn't apply here anymore

Jot down 400 games. Add them in a hat, and pick out 2. That's the only logic anymore.

Or, alternately, they'll release something we actually want (I still want to try Earthbound) and it'll proceed to sell miserably in the first week because everyone's going to be playing Brawl.

Actually, if they did release Earthbound and it failed, that'd be justification for their not releasing the NES predecessor or the GBA sequel in America. I don't think Nintendo is that evil (mostly because they've never done anything that underhanded in the past), but you never know... :whistle2:k

Personally, I continue to hope for more obscure stuff. The big names are cool and all, but I'd much rather see something cool that I haven't played, or maybe even heard of.
I guess all this bitching is because of people not downloading the dozens of awesome games already on the VC, and just playing games that the mainstream gaming press talks about?

Actually, what games HAVE you guys downloaded? I've got, in order of "super happy with purchase" to "maybe I should have spent the points on Super Metroid" :

Sin and Punishment
Mario Kart 64
Starfox 64
Alien Soldier
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
Dynastic Hero
Ninja Spirit
Balloon Fight
Paper Mario
Lords of Thunder
Zelda: Link to the Past
Donkey Kong Country
Legend of the Mystical Ninja
Gunstar Heroes
Legend of Hero Tonma

And I'm planning on buying:

NES:
Super Mario Bros. 3
StarTropics
Kirby's Adventure

SNES:
Super Turrican
Super Metroid
Donkey Kong Country 2

N64:
Kirby 64
Pokemon Snap

Sure, why not :bouncy:

Super Mario Bros 3
Adventures of Lolo
Kirby's Adventure
Punch-Out!!
Mario Bros 2: Lost Levels

Gunstar Heroes
Streets of Rage 2
ToeJam & Earl
Golden Axe

Harvest Moon
Contra III
Link to the Past
Legend of the Mystical Ninja
Super Metroid
Super Mario World
Super Street Fighter II The New Challengers
Vegas Stakes (LOL

Jeez, my list pales in comparison. I've been spending all my money on PC and DS games since I actually have a decent computer now, and my DS goes everywhere with me.

Paper Mario (never played before)
Super Mario Bros 2 (more fun and interesting than other NES Marios)
Pokemon Snap (love this game and never got to play it proper)
Kirby's Adventure (FAVORITEST GAME EVER)

Mines worse... I only play what I think i've missed out on in the past:

The Legend of Zelda (Note: Retro Studios is remaking this into an FPS, not joking)
Zelda OoT

and that's it...

I plan on getting more, I'm just not in a hurry.

Super Mario Bros
Super Mario Bros 3
Kirby's Adventure
Shining Force
ToeJam & Earl
Phantasy Star II
Breath of Fire II
Pokemon Snap
Kirby 64
Sin & Punishment
Legend of Zelda: OoT
Blazing Lasers

I may be missing one or two, but that's most of it.

So far, I've only got two VC games: Kirby 64, which I'd missed out on because I could never find a copy for a decent price, and Pokémon Snap, which I bought in large part so I can send people random pictures. :)

I've already got a lot of the NES, N64, and Genesis titles they've got up for download now, and I can't bring myself to repurchase games I've still got on the original systems, especially when they're still working perfectly. I need to start going through and buying games I missed out on (case in point: I've never played Super Metroid), but I'm broke enough to wait for something that I really want before I can justify the $20 for another point card.
The Legend of Zelda (Note: Retro Studios is remaking this into an FPS, not joking)
Given that a Google search only returned one "meaningful" result (an unsubstantiated rumor on a Zelda fan site), I call :bs: unless you've got some form of proof...especially since turning the original Zelda into an FPS makes no fucking sense at all.

I don't have much 'cause I own nearly all of the NES, SNES, and N64 games I want on their original systems, plus I own the Genesis collection for PS2.

Beyond Oasis
Gunstar Heroes
Ninja Spirit
Sin & Punishment
Toejam & Earl

At this point my wishlist equals my collection: I want Landstalker, Streets of Rage 2, Wonder Boy in Monster World, Alien Soldier, and Air Zonk. I'm also considering the VC versions of Super Mario World and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past because my SNES carts were signed by Miyamoto and I probably shouldn't play those anymore...

Wait till E3 this year.

I don't think anyone is going to remember this in 4 months or so. Of course, that could be your plan.;)

either way I wont be screwed if 'm right or wrong :)

Bold prophecies that probably won't pan out? Hey Rolento, there's a job waiting for you at TBN. Ah, televangelism, the last bastion of snake-oil salesmen.

Back to topic, you know what I'd like to see on the VC? Some Joe & Mac. And I don't say this facetiously.

I still hope nintendo does some stuff to bring GB/GBC games to the VC or something similar to the DS... so many damn good games on the GB/GBC that it rivals SNES IMHO.

If that's true I'm excited. A new interpretation of the Zelda series is exactly what it needs, and we already know that Retro makes great games.

NES

Castlevania 2
SMB 2 the Lost Levels
SMB 3

SNES

Legend of Zelda - LTTP

Genesis

Ghouls N' Ghosts

TG-16/CD

Lords of Thunder

I think that's it, I really need to finish up LTTP so I can work on Castlevania 2.

Hmmm, my wii is at school right now, but off the top of my head I have...

N64
- Kirby 64
- Mario 64
- Mario Kart 64
- Sin and Punishment
- Pokemon Snap

SNES
- Link to the Past
- Super Metroid
- Castlevania IV
- Contra 3

Genesis
- Gunstar Heroes

TG
- Lords of Thunder
- Splatter House

NES
- Castlevania
- Ice Hockey
- Kid Icarus
- Punch Out

I don't have that many, I do like the old NES games though as I never had an NES.

NES
Kirbys Adventure
Punch Out
Golf Tour (or whatever it's called)

SNES
Super Metroid
Mario World

N64
Paper Mario
Star Fox 64

Neo Geo
World Heroes

i finally dlded S&P. I still think its a bit over priced, but its a good game. reminds me more of a DC game than a N64 game.

I have 800pts now left over. ill either get something or wait rill monday...

I'm surprised there's so little TG16 love on these lists. I know it wasn't a popular system at the time, but if anything I would think curiosity would drive more downloads around here. My list is small, because as soon as I heard about Wii-Ware I started stockpiling points.

Super Metroid
Dragon's Curse (I don't think it's just nostalgia - this game is fantastic!)
Bomberman '93
Breath of Fire II

Europe gets one game.
Kirby 64, 1000 points.

So I guess us getting Kirby 64 makes up for that Japan gets Custom Robo and we won't? :whistle2:(
I'm surprised there's so little TG16 love on these lists. I know it wasn't a popular system at the time, but if anything I would think curiosity would drive more downloads around here.
I really thought that I'd be investing heavily in TG16 titles on the VC since I never owned the system and there isn't a good emulator even if I wanted to go that route.

This is when I really wish the VC had demos available. I have a bunch of TG16 titles I'm interested in but unwilling to purchase blindly. If it weren't for that, I'd probably own the Bonks, Zonks, Neutopias, Devil's Crush, and Lords of Thunder. As of now I only own Ninja Spirit 'cause I had the chance to test it out on a friend's Wii.

There is a good emulator, but the free version limits you to 5 minutes of playtime. That should be enough for you to tell whether or not you like a game though. I usually download and play a game before I buy it for the VC, unless I've played it before.

it shldve been 1000 pts, not 1200. sure its an import but its still a N64 game. whatever...

ill stop bitching if custom robo comes here.

Yes, but it's the best N64 game and it was previously more than 50 bucks to get a copy. Honestly, I'd pick it over Super Mario Galaxy or Twilight Princess as a must-have Wii game.

Doesn't mean you have to curse someone's mother to get your point across. :p

It's definitely a fun game that I'd recommend even as the most expensive title on the VC, particularly because the alternative is far too costly. But I wouldn't even call it one of my top 5 favorite N64 games. I realize a major factor in that is the fact that I didn't play the game until seven years after its release, but that's how I feel in any case. As it stands, I just think it'd be nice to see a current-gen sequel. And calling it better than Galaxy or Twilight Princess is a bit overdoing it to get your point across, isn't it?

I'm not calling it better than those games to get my point across. I'm calling it better than those games because, in my honest opinion, it's better. I had more fun playing it than I did playing either of those games - and I loved those games. I just love Sin & Punishment more, and consider it one of the greatest deals ever for 12 bucks.

I didn't play it for several years after its release too. I just consider it a timeless game.

I guess I'm a quality over quantity guy. I liked Portal better than Bioshock too. Although Portal really should have been a little shorter... ;)

That said, I've also spent 300+ hours on (heavily modded) Oblivion. So I guess it depends on the game.

I understand that you didn't say that just to make a point; I know that you honestly believe what you said. I was just trying to say that a statement like that is --I hope you can agree-- very atypical. It comes across as hyperbole more than anything else, and undermines your extolment of the game.

Yeah, I've noticed that a lot of my opinions come off as hyperbole. If I were less arrogant, I'd almost think that they weren't objectively true.

But that's crazy talk.

CAG T4Revan is my best friend, seriously. He made us banners for when C64 and Master System games come out.

I'm excited!
