Trailer for "Discipline" released

This is coming from Marvelous. You know, the only third party worth giving a damn about when it comes to this entire system (Muramasa, Little King Story, etc).

Apparently this was announced at TGS, and seems to have an "artsy Portal" vibe. You're in some kind of facility where you discover "something bad" going on with a lot of tests being run, so you decide to escape. Seems to be focused on some kind of...well, it looks like a pen, but with organic parts, which is creepy looking.

It has an extremely distinct hand-drawn style to it, at least for the art. There's only a few seconds of in-game footage, and even then I can't tell what is properly in-game and what isn't.

Warning: Trailer is extremely weird, like something David Lynch (Twin Peaks, Mulholand Drive) might make, with a lot of unconnected imagery. I also get a slight ....Adult Swim feeling from it, mostly from Superjail (but without all of the violence). Basically just surreal.

Logo looks fantastic.
speaking of this, are the 5000 and 3000 point cards new? Over here we only have 2000 point cards.

But they come in dinky cases :bouncy:
non-existent here in the US but i heard they were going to release them when the DSi comes out. I could be totally wrong!

Is EXStrike on vacation?

WII-KLY UPDATE: TWO WIIWARE GAMES AND TWO VIRTUAL CONSOLE GAMES ADDED TO WII SHOP CHANNEL

Oct. 13, 2008
Armchair physicists rejoice! The hotly anticipated award-winning World of Goo™ makes its WiiWare™ debut this week, inviting players to build infinitely fascinating structures out of Goo and uncover the mystery behind the World of Goo Corporation. Other cool additions to the Wii Shop Channel™ this week include Art Style™: CUBELLO™, the second installment in Nintendo's Art Style series, and a pair of classics for the Virtual Console™: SECRET OF MANA™ and STREET FIGHTER™ II': SPECIAL CHAMPION EDITION. Fun offerings like these are sure to heat up your October, no matter how low the autumn temperatures may go.

Nintendo adds new and classic games to the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii™ owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

WiiWare

World of Goo (2D Boy, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone—Comic Mischief, 1,500 Wii Points): World of Goo is an award-winning, physics-based puzzle/construction game made entirely by two guys. Grab living, squirming, talking globs of goo to build structures, bridges, cannonballs, zeppelins and giant tongues. The millions of Goo Balls that live in the beautiful World of Goo are curious to explore—but they don't know that they are in a game, or that they are extremely delicious. World of Goo Corporation is contractually obligated to state that everyone is a winner, and is enthusiastic to celebrate everyone's Goo building opportunities equally.

Art Style: CUBELLO (Nintendo, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 600 Wii Points): Art Style: CUBELLO mixes the strategy and feel of a traditional puzzle game with the precision and reflexes required in a shooter. As each stage begins, various colored cubes form into one large object called a Cubello, which floats and rotates as you play. Launch additional cubes from your magazine and try to connect four or more of the same color, removing them from the Cubello and eventually leaving only its core. Take on the challenge of either Stage or Endless mode and watch what happens when Bonus Time is activated. The straightforward controls and goal ensure that anyone can play, while offering enough depth that even advanced players will find themselves quickly addicted to the unique world of Art Style: CUBELLO.

Virtual Console

SECRET OF MANA (Super NES™, 1-3 players, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older—Mild Fantasy Violence, Mild Suggestive Themes, 800 Wii Points): Good and evil battle for a young warrior's heart. There is one force in the universe that keeps good and evil in perfect balance. It is called the tree of Mana. But a magic sword has tricked a young warrior into upsetting this balance, spreading evil throughout the land. Thus, the warrior must undertake a dangerous journey to find the seeds of the Mana tree, which have been hidden for centuries. Only then can perfect harmony be restored. In this incredible adventure, things are not as they seem. Magic swords release evil as well as fight it. Treasure chests hold booby traps. Monsters are friends and friends are enemies. Potions give power, black magic takes it away. Dragons fly, weapons change. It's a world turned upside down that you must help the warrior make right. And the only way to succeed is to solve the Secret of Mana.

STREET FIGHTER II': SPECIAL CHAMPION EDITION (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, Rated T for Teen—Violence, 800 Wii Points): STREET FIGHTER II': SPECIAL CHAMPION EDITION was the first STREET FIGHTER game released for the Sega Genesis console. The STREET FIGHTER series can be considered one of the first fighting games to popularize competitive video game fighting. This version of the game contains both the CHAMPION and HYPER rule sets, from the two editions released in the arcades. It also introduced an exclusive Group Battle mode that is now a general feature in most fighting games. Play as one of 12 different characters, each with their own distinctive fighting style. Try single-player mode or challenge a friend in this legendary, classic fighting game.

Wow holy crap!? I definitely need TRU to be in stock of Wii Points now. I had no idea Secret of Mana was even being considered for release.
Is EXStrike on vacation?
Just getting my sleep in. The joys of being a college student who's term is ending soon. So much freaking work.

Holy shit @ today's update

Edit:

Ohh man, Secret of Mana has its 3-player functionality

Wow, what a week. Glad I picked up some Wii Points cards.

I'll be picking up Secret of Mana, World of Goo, and Cubello.

By the way, what the hell is Cubello? On the VC-Reviews site, most commenters seem to think it's Coloris, but the description doesn't sound right at all. Is it maybe Dialhex?

Wow this is nuts. Of course I'm not home to enjoy this. LOL @ having ghetto neighbors who burn their apartments down. Hopefully I'm home sometime soon..

:whee:

FOUR yes FOUR awesome games (even though SFII was already released 3 times) one being a Squaresoft SNES RPG.

Ok now I must be still sleeping or something after reading that bombshell .

OMFG. Secret of Mana!?! And World of Goo!?!?! And another Art Style Game!?!?! And I still need Shining Force 2!?!!?!?!

I need lots more points. And a bigger fridge. NOW.

God, I wish we had a TRU in this town...

It isn't Dialhex. This is loosely based off of Coloris, but it goes about the color-matching in an entirely dfferent way.

I guess Nintendo is finally listening when it comes to VC releases. I'm not sure why they want to release another SF game considering that we already have all three games that were out on the SNES.

But wow, Secret of Mana just came out of nowhere.

Dodgers winning last night, Secret of Mana out today, World of Goo very exciting. People hoarding the Wii points cards yesterday not exciting.

Never thought I would say this, but I'm starting to run out of points (and have been running out of space) for the awesomeness that has been released lately. It's pretty telling that I want 3/4 games this week.

My only concern is that World of Goo is going to be quite large. Someone needs to post how much space it takes up once they download it.
Next week Earthbound
I'm have a good feeling this will be out on Christmas. Otherwise, Plan B would be Final Fantasy III/VI

I don't even own a Wii and I'm excited they release Shining Force II. Wow....good release of classic games. Is it wrong to want this system for the old games?
Yikes, 1500 points for World of Goo? Luckily I have 1600 right now but I need to get to TRU this week and pick up a couple more cards.
Make it today, the accessory sale is only a 2-day event.

I'll be buying World of Goo and Secret of Mana later today (which I never played but always wanted to).

I never got around to buying the first Art Style game, I really should buy both of them.

Crap. Alright, Nintendo, you win.

*goes to transfer stuff to SD card and download Secret of Mana*

I like how even though my Wii hasn't been touched in two weeks and has apparantly tripped somewhere (the AC cord seems to have a short) so therefore no light is lit on the front, I feel inclined to fire up that sucker and download Secret of Mana just to say, "Ninty, I have always loved you."

But Dragon Quest IV would start cursing me from the relative safety of my DS. Choices choices.

Which reminds me. When is that storage solution happening?

Now if I could only find time to play mana and someone to play with.
Too bad there is no online.
I used to play this with my friend over 10 years ago but he played through half the game without me. The game was like something I had never seen. It was like a souped up zelda where up to 3 people could play at the same time.

My wife is doing some early Xmas shopping today so she is going to look for me. I doubt my local TRU will have any cards left though. I'll see if I can get BB to pricematch it if they don't.

321 apparently. I can't download it because I don't have enough space. Time to clean the frige out.

Bye-bye Internet and Mario Kart channel. It was nice knowing ya.

I dumped the Mario Kart channel and Lost Winds.

Also, my wife picked me up two Wii Points cards from TRU. Secret of Mana will be downloaded next (after more cleaning most likely).

I wanna go home!! I think I'll be home tomorrow.
