Found several of these at the O'neil WM in Baton Rouge.

Its the kit with the console stand, Wiimote skin and strap, and a 512 MB mem card. I think the regular price was $40.

On a side note: I searched every Wal-Mart in Baton Rouge for a Wavebird but couldn't find a single one, clearanced or not.

DON'T BUY IT. The strap has no adjustment, the stand has no ventilation and the SD card is likely one of the shitty ones that would have ended up as a pirate SanDisk card or something if they hadn't bought a load from some shady dealer.

BD&A has run away with Nintendo's license even slapping it on cheap-o link cables that directly compete with Nintendo's own GameLink cables!

BD&A once only made Nintendo merchandise like clothing and character beanies (my old Killer Instinct hat and my collection of Nintendo beanie babies). ALS had a grip on the official third-party game case and accessory market. After the GameFolio, BD&A realized that they could slap the Seal of Quality on anything!

I'm glad I passed on it, but I didn't realize they were that bad. I did notice the Nintendo seal and thought they might have been legit. Leave it to BD&A.

I saw around 25 or so Wavebirds at the O'Neil Walmart just a few days ago, but I really didn't have that much money to spend. I had planned on going back and picking up a few of them later that week, but I couldn't find a single one. Someone must have either horded them or they were stuck in back of Walmart in limbo.

Actually the stand works just fine, and it looks great with having all the controllers lined up. Also, as for the strap, it's no big deal as it fits fine around the wrist of anyone except a small child, and the glove is slip resistant anyway. As for the SD card, all my SD Cards are pretty much pirates and they work fine.

Buy it, it's a very nice setup

The Wii needs ventilation and this stand DENYS it that. The original stand does not. This is a downgrade. Some try to say that the Wii doesn't need ventilation: They're wrong. It's not XBOX360 or PS3, but you will damage it if you block the vents.

From the Wiki:

"It has also been reported that during standby mode, the Wii can overheat to the point of damaging the GPU, causing pixelation problems, such as random dark or green pixels, to appear. As of April 21, 2007, it is possible to contact Nintendo and send it for repair."

Want to see what a fried GPU looks like? Here you go.

BD&A had their stands ready for the launch of the Wii and clearly ignored Nintendo's reasoning for including a stand. The reason Nintendo includes a stand is specifically so that it won't overheat when used on its side. To look at Nintendo's stand and then *continue* making them the way they are making them is criminal.

The official straps from Nintendo are superior in every way. The safety instructions always tell you to put your hand in the strap *and adjust it to fit.* That's impossible with these, hence they do not conform to official Nintendo specification, use guidelines, or documentation and they do not deserve a Seal of Quality. Just because their Nintendo license was granted to let them slap it on any piece of Nintendo clothing they wanted to make does not mean they can do this.

If TWO of the three products are actually downgrades (and one other, the silicone skin, is pointless garbage), I don't see how it can possibly be recommended. It would have to be priced low enough to be a deal for the SD card alone, but it's not.

I got one from Target for $6 that included a game disc case instead of the silicone skin. At least that's useful. Anyway, I plan to do some testing and write up something about all this, but in the mean time I couldn't just sit back and watch these actually sell and get used!

It would have to hold four remotes, four Nunchuks with cable management, and at least a couple Classic Controllers for me to consider it. Oh, and ventilation of course. I can imagine a million other "premium" features for a stand like that, but I'd better keep those close to my chest.
