Via press release from Nintendo:
July 30 Mario Strikers Charged
Aug. 20 Metroid Prime 3 Corruption
September Battalion Wars 2
Aug. 14 High School Musical: Sing It!
Aug. 14 Madden NFL '08 EA
August Tiger Woods PGA Tour '08
August Space Station Tycoon
August Brunswick Pro Bowling
August Dave Mirra BMX Challenge
August Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection
September Brothers in Arms
September Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal
September George of the Jungle
Fall Boogie

This gives me even more reason to sell it and just pick another one if some interesting games ever come out for it. Mario Strikes Charged and Brunswick Pro Bowling do sound fun though. Also, I wonder what that Looney Tunes game is about. Could have potential.

That's a pretty poor lineup. I worry Nintendo is going to let their momentum die if they don't start bringing out more interesting titles.

This isnt the time to bring out too many big titles. The PS3 has a comparable lineup. Much to my surprise, the 360 seems to have a very robust release schedule during this period, even for non-shooters.

Unless you guys are only buying Nintendo games, I would suggest everyone wait until E3 to see what everyone else has in store.

Manhunt 2, for example, is dated July 29th, but isn't on that list.

Resident Evil 4 Wii is hitting retail on June 19th, and that isn't on the list.

So you guys aren't interested in BWii, MP3 or Strikers? All I have to ask is what's wrong with you? 3 First Party titles, one each month, and you're disappointed to the point of selling your Wii? Seriously, you have problems. Especially since Metroid Prime 3 is on that list.

And the above poster is right. There are 2 key titles not on that list. RE4 Wii edition (38/40 from Famitsu) and Manhunt 2 (seems IGN likes it). I guess the games Nintendo listed are considered to be "exclusives" by Nintendo's definition of exclusive. Why doesn't the ESRB just define "exclusive" so we can get on with our lives?

This list is solid, but it would be even more solid if the 2 other games were on the list. And Madden was great last year, so...it might be good this year.

I have to disagree. Resident Evil does sound interesting, but I didn't care much for the first Manhunt, and nothing has convinced me this one will be better. But maybe. I have a bigger problem with Nintendo's titles. Strikers and BW2 have yet to convince me that they're anything but Wii controllable updates of the GameCube originals. MP3, on the other hand, looks very good, but then I didn't like the sequel nearly as much as the original, so we'll see. I just wish I was seeing more quality titles in general. Nintendo sold the WIi based on Zelda and Wii Sports, but I've yet to see them really sell me this is going to be anything more than a gimmick system. It hasn't grabbed me yet like the DS did. Granted, the DS stumbled in its first year, as well, but it did recover. I'm hoping to see the same thing with the Wii.

Apparently the second Manhunt is a lot better than the first one. IGN was completely gushing over the four hour play test they did, going as far as to say they loved the game.

On top of that, Strikers and BW2 have online play now as well, and leaderboards and those kind of XBLA things as well. It's just not just about controllable upgrades. Nintendo is picking up on that as well. Ignorance, perhaps, got Nintendo to ignore the fact that they should have placed Mario Party 8 and Big Brian Academy on the list because they're going out in the next couple of months. They've also skipped over Mercury Meltdown, Scarface, Pokemon Battle Revolution, Line Rider, Dewy's Adventure, as well as a number of other games.
The first two games on the list...thats it.
Same.

I'm just glad they should be two hopefully amazing AAA games... if Metroid Prime 3 follows in the steps of MP 1 and 2 of being awesome, which it looks it will, I'm going to be super excited.

I'll get Battalion Wars when it's dirt cheap.

I'm just glad we finally have a release date for MP 3.
If Wii controllable updates to what are essentially Gamecube games doesnt do it for you, you REALLY bought the wrong system.
This is where Nintendo has messed up. Who wants to buy a new $250 system just to have a new controller to play the same games with? The GameCube gave us lots of new, original titles. At the least, it gave us very different takes on all the old games. So far, the Wii hasn't done this (for the most part). Nintendo perpetuates the GameCube 1.5 idea by basically giving us that. I'd give them more credit if they made a 3D Luigi's Mansion rather than a sequel to Mario Strikers that looks (and I don't meant graphics) essentially the same. Online is nice, but that doesn't sell me on many games, and especially not when it's the big touted feature for buying a brand new $50 game. Maybe with Smash Bros, but not with many others.

And before anyone cries that I hate Nintendo--no, I don't. I love Nintendo. I just don't love how Nintendo is handling the Wii, so far. They've yet to show me they're trying to turn things around like Sony has recently been showing. We'll see.

At the end of the day though, the good games are definitely there. It all depends on whether you want to pick them up and play them. Maybe Nintendo is not doing enough on that end, but the fact is that I'm enjoying my Wii.

The thing is you actually need to plunk down the cash, buy a game, put it in your console, and turn it on to play the damn thing because if you find yourself being unable to do that for any of these games, regardless of how wishy/washy you may be on a game, then, and not just you, then yeah, sell the console.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but everyone has their tastes and if you feel that you're not going to be able to put down money on Manhunt 2, Metroid 3, Mario Strikers, Resident Evil 4, Scarface, Space Station Tycoon, Mario Party 8, or Dewy's Adventure, then yeah, and this goes to everyone, yes, sell your console.

In the fall, we'll have Mario Galaxy, Smash Brothers Brawl, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Zack and Wiki, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, NiGHTS: Journey Into Dreams, Soul Calibur Legends, Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn, and Battalion Wars 2, along with nearly 72 Virtual Console games to be released through the end of the year, and again, if you're not going to be able to put money down on any of those games, yes, you should consider selling your console now while the iron is hot.

Now to be clear, I'm not trying to be an asshole. I'm being real. We already know the majority of games coming out and regardless of what will be shown off at E3, if you aren't interested in the stuff I just listed, the Wii isn't going to be for you. I say this with all the respect in the world so don't bash me and I don't think I was talking down to anyone.

I'm just putting all the games out there and if none of those are worth your cash, move on. If however you're going to say, yeah this isn't going to give me an orgasm, but I may have some fun, well then buy a few games everyone, chill out, and enjoy yourself. It's not going to hurt. If everyone took their fun so seriously as gamers did, every day would be a real life Anchorman.

Great... MP3 comes out when I have to go back to school. Every year, it's the same shit. Summer sucks ass and when it's nearing the end, something awesome comes out.:bomb:
This is where Nintendo has messed up. Who wants to buy a new $250 system just to have a new controller to play the same games with?
I would say the answer to that is, people who dont want to pay $400 or $600 to play the same games, but with shiny, light bloomed keys dangled in front of them.

It's really hard to not just look at Prime 3.

I think we've gotten a couple of 3rd party gems so far on the Wii (Madden, Rayman, DBZ, Godfather, and Sonic (IMO)). All 1st party titles (Zelda, Sports, Play, Wario, Excite Truck, and SPM) have been great so far.

It seems RE4 and Manhunt 2 might be gems now too.
This is where Nintendo has messed up. Who wants to buy a new $250 system just to have a new controller to play the same games with?
Judging on system sales, quite a few people.

Bear in mind that there are a lot of people who are buying the Wii who didn't have a Cube. So even ports and games with minor updates are new to them.

Well this lineup does look pretty bad, but then again theres one game I'd get for sure (MP3) and one I'd maybe get (Strikers) at release. So it's kinda similar for the other consoles right now. I'm fine with 1 awesome title every 2 months for the Wii...think I'll ask for one for Christmas this year ;)

Why does everyone think this is a bad list? Just because there aren't 40 titles from movies coming out doesn't mean the list is bad. If you add Manhunt 2 (why it's not on there I don't know) the list is fairly consistent as you've got 2 titles in July, 1 in August, and 1 in September of highly wanted games by most gamers' standards.

I don't see anything negative to say about this list. Nintendo is putting out a lot of games. Why is everyone being so negative towards the Wii. Most of us will only buy a game here and there, so it will take awhile to play most of these releases.
I would say the answer to that is, people who dont want to pay $400 or $600 to play the same games, but with shiny, light bloomed keys dangled in front of them.
Umm, yeah. Yes, people who don't have $400 or more do want the Wii to succeed, or maybe just buy a PS2 and keep playing it back library of games and all the new ones that are seeing release on the WIi, only for $120 less.

I obviously touched on a lot of people's nerves by saying a bad thing about Nintnedo, but this is looking very similar to the GameCube days all over again, which was in turn similar to the N64 days. Maybe after Christmas Nintendo will look better, but right now Strikers 1.5 and BW 1.5 aren't that engaging. Most of the rest of that list is made up of titles that people wouldn't give a second glance to on the PS2 because they've be labeled cheap cash-in titles. High School Musical? Pro Bowling? Space Station Tycoon? One is a Disney title, one is an XBLA title, and one is a bowling game. I love bowling, but how often do we get really good bowling games...ever? Madden showed some promise last year, but we'll see. Really, the only bankable title is MP3, as I wouldn't put too much faith in IGN's jubilant preview of MH2 or a Resident Evil shooting game (no matter how much I want it to be good). Just being realistic here.

Glad I held off on Tiger Woods 2007, as the PSP's first year set the precedent for EA double-dipping on the franchise within six or seven months for a new system. But besides that and Corruption...well, it's going to be a killer second half of '07 for the 360!

"Slim pickins!"

"Manufactured shortage!"

"Infinite delays!"

(Scurries out of thread, snickering)

Out of that list, I'm definitly nabbing MP3 and maybe BW2, but only if the reviews are super good, otherwise I'll hold off till it's cheap, thanks in part to that other big named game coming in the same month.

There are quite a few not on that list in the next couple months that should be decent if not really good.

Manhunt 2
The Bigs (Arcade baseball game, looks real good)
MK Armageddon
SD Gundam Scad Hammers
Scarface
RE 4 Wii
DQ Swords

While these might not appeal to everyone on here, the Wii lineup is MUCH more appealing to me than any of the other systems. I can guarantee you I am not alone thinking that.

I can confirm you're not alone...I'll be getting Scarface, Manhunt 2, and Metroid Prime 3. The Wii will be the console of the summer for me!

Not a damn thing for me. I've always felt the Metroid Prime games were extremely over-rated, and tacked on Wii-mote controls aren't going to change my mind. Very, very disappointing.

I highly doubt they will feel "tacked on".

Only thing that I might buy would be Strikers.

I'm in the minority in that I'm not down with Metroid, I guess.

I wasn't crazy about Metroid Prime though I did like it. I have a feeling it will be the start of great FPS on the Wii though. Nintendo nails the controls then the rest follow.

Thats a terrible list. :(
I just bought a Wii and this is what I have to look forward to?
I dont like FPS so no MP3 for me
Mario Strikers I have no interest in.
Battalion Wars 2? No thanks...
These might be first party titles but they are nothing that I am interested in. I hope that the winter season brings more gaming goodness. Like Mario Galaxy perhaps?

DQ Swords

Shane Bettenhausen himself very recently said this game is "for babies" and he was quite uncompromising about it. You have been warned, not that that means you'll be deterred. I see too many ports on that list, and while I'm sure you're not alone in thinking that the Wii has the best 'remainder of '07' lineup, I'm even more certain that you're in the distinct minority.

Who?

Oh wait, don't bother answering. I don't care.

I wish EA would start talking about what they're adding to Madden 08 for the Wii.

I'm definitely getting Metroid Prime 3 and I will probably get Mario Strikers and Madden 08.

You know, you people who bought the Wii and find nothing worthwhile in this list...I'm trying to figure out where it is you f*cked up.

If I were to buy a 360, I know I'm pretty much in line for games like Halo 3 and Dead Rising 2 and Bioshock. So when they finally get put on release dates, I don't sit there and bitch and complain that "omfg there's nothing here that interests me."

So I'm really curious how it is that so many people are being fooled into buying a system that gaurantees games like Mario Sports, Metroid, Smash Bros, etc., and then only manages to piss you off when you don't get Devil May Cry 4.

How many of you buy tickets to a band you hate, go to said concert, complain the entire f*cking time, and then come back and say "Damn it why I didn't I just buy tickets to Linkin Park, since they rock so much and really speak to the inner tortured soul that is my true inner videogame buying self?"

I mean at this point we're beginning to see the end of developers refusing to put games on the system, we're beginning to see more first party content, and yet everyone is just constantly bitching, and it's primarily from people who knew exactly what they were getting into at the beginning when they purchased the stupid thing. I could understand if all of you were clueless idiots, but you're in the know.

So again I ask what in the hell is going on here, because I see a list that's got at least a few games worth mentioning, one of which we haven't seen anything new about and thus could be a real surprise, and yet there's this endless bitching.

But...But...it's so much fun to whine and moan and complain anytime any news comes out. And if we don't bitch and mope and dump on this list then someone might actually get to be happy about the news that some of their most anticipated games finally have a release date. Can't you tell things are so much better when we make everything sound crappy.

Summer has always been the worst time of the year for video game releases anyway. Your expectations shouldn't be too high.

July 30 Mario Strikers Charged
Aug. 20 Metroid Prime 3 Corruption
September Battalion Wars 2

Looks good to me, the VC games are keeping me entertained enough. And the 360 has enough stuff to keep me busy until Nintendo starts pumping out the first/second party games.

Edit: Although I was hoping we were going to get Smash Bros. Brawl relatively soon.

Sounds great to me!

PBR in June, Mario Strikers in July, Metroid Prime in August, and Battalion Wars in September. That's a pretty awesome game-a-month stride, for me...plus another potential couple of titles not found on this list that will surely end up being worth purchasing during that timeframe.

Oh, and Madden! I forgot Madden. Definitely buying that, '07 was the best football gaming experience ever.

Summer is gamings slow time. So I'm not surprised to see much of nothing on that list. Summer is the time where I can catch up on my collection, and buy, and beat random games.

Im still not sure how people are saying nothing is on that list. Im pretty much up for all of them PLUS quite a few that aren't even on the list.

Edit: Shouldn't say all of them as these 4 don't sound good to me. Though pinball would be if i can move the remote and nunchuk like the flippers :)

August Dave Mirra BMX Challenge
