They were only given away by nintendo in Japan. You can buy them on ebay for like 80 bucks. Or just do what I did and buy a couple of these to use in the gamecube ports on the wii.

Then buy a couple gamecube extension cables on ebay 5 - 10 bucks on ebay. Then you just need an snes or nes controller and your set to play the games the way they were meant to be played. You will have spent less then the wii famicom controller.

Yeah, your best bet is to buy a Retro USB adapter from the link, they're quality and lag free. Or one of these Mayflash adapters. http://sewelldirect.com/Nintendo-NES-SNES-to-Wii-Controller-Adapter_specs.asp

I'd prefer the Retro USB for no powerdraw on the Wii Remote.

Problem with this is many games only support classic control and not gamecube control.

Not the ones that matter, like Smash Bros., all VC games, and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
