I went ahead and got MMX, but I forgot how much I suck at it. I find it incredibly hard :whistle2:(

I hope Nintendo does more sales like these.

Reggie, sir,

Some of us don't get our Wii U until this holiday coming up in a few days called Christmas.

Thanks,

b3b0p

Interested in Mega Man X. Will Nintendo let me just buy the game at $2 using a credit card or is it going to force me to purchase in 5 dollar increments?

I hope so too! And yeah, Mega Man X is not easy. Have you played other Mega Man games before? I don't think X is the hardest, but yeah. Not a cakewalk.

Also, Reggie, I want a f*cking pizza!

That shiv drives me batman-shiv crazy on the Wii (and now the Wii Shop Channel under Wii Mode on the Wii U--why oh why can't they give us a new Wii Shop Channel instead of that clunky old thing that I thought I was rid of forever, like the awful data management screen and tiny 512MB on-board memory, whyyyy whyyyy)

Seems like Mega Man on the GB may also be $2 on the 3DS eShop.
It's such a cruddy game on the Mega Man scale of excellence though. I know some people like it, and that's fair enough, but it brings me straight back to my blurry Game Boy and being inept and frustrated (speaking of hard games! it's so much harder than MM X!).

I have -played- other Mega Man games as a kid, but I think they were always too hard for me XD Honestly, I don't think I've ever beaten one before lol

I might actually pick up MMX. I sold my MMX collection for PS2 years ago and kind of regret it (not as fun the original series, but still good). As for difficulty, when I got the original MM collection I beat all 8 games then moved on to the X collection. I could not for the life of me beat the final boss in X1. Seriously, fuck him.

I second the whole set up ahead of Christmas thing.  It took most of the morning last year to get ours set up and updated.  It takes even longer to transfer over the Wii content if you have one and the content won't be missed.  It's a long wait made even more painful when you have the kids itching to play Super Mario on it.  Every two minutes ... "Is it ready yet?"

I remember buying MMX when it first came out at tru. Cost me $81 =\ I finished it the next day =\ =\ then I didn't have enough money for Secret of Mana.

Picked up MMX because nostalgia.

I remember riding my bike in the snow five miles to the nearest Kay-Bee Toys store to grab my copy of Mega Man X. I was so hyped about it when I got my Nintendo Power that featured the game. Going to have to find a copy of the Mega Man X Collection soon.

He should actually do the set up ahead of time regardless of downloading the game. That way you don't spend half of Christmas morning watching the Wii U update.
Great recommendation for anyone with a Christmas Wii U. I decided to do just that since I was working from home and the kids were at school. The update process was at least thirty minutes.

yeah, they are damn hard. I remember getting frustrated and throwing controllers. I think one reason I liked Mega Man 2 was because it was "easier." I think MM2 and MM X1 are the only ones I ever beat!

Yeah, Sigma right? I can't remember, but I do remember being very frustrated. Amazing that you beat 1-8 but not X, though. I remember being frustrated at every Mega Man 1-8 I played, but X for some reason wasn't as hard, I felt. I think MM2 and X1 are the only ones I've ever beaten (repeating what i said above because........... I dno whY)

$81?? Are you Canadian? British? Why was it $81? I don't remember buying it, but I would have remembered if it was $81. I remember it being $39.99 or $49.99, the standard price. (I do remember paying $80+ for a lot of RPGs like FFIII, Chrono Trigger and Phantasy Star IV, but that's all that comes to mind...)

I wish I could remember more about when/how I bought games. :( That was a special time for me, the 16-bit days. :) I was not a happy camper as far as school, being social, or anything else, but man, I loved my SNES.

It is weird, isn't it? I think I technically had a several month gap between tackling the original collection and the X collection. During that time I must've lost some skill or patience. Looking back it's probably one of my prouder gamer moments (the original collection I mean) because I don't typically have the patience to play through those hard as balls games. I was also a bit younger with less of a backlog.

Whoops, stupid me. Got in on this deal, but I already have a copy of Mega Man Maverick Hunter X on my Vita. Oh well, I'm only out $2.

I read Mega Man X is on sale through 12/18, but does anyone know what time the sale is over? I'm planning on buying a Wii-U on 12/18 after work. It would be nice if the sale lasts until midnight, so I can get home, set up the Wii-U, and download megaman X

Actually, Maverick Hunter X is an enhanced remake of Mega Man X, with the power-ups in different locations and you can play as Vile.

More than likely the sale will be over at 12PM PST.

Also everyone should take note that Nintendo's having their Nintendo Direct tomorrow and while it's mainly to announce games being released this Spring for the Wii U (and probably 3DS), they may have some special announcements for the last two weeks of the year. I'm sure they'll announce if it will be this week or next week that they will release Super Mario Bros. 3 to the eShop.

9 AM PT, 12 PM ET. It's listed right at the top of the OP.

No discussion of Edge and Rush? Edge looks good from the reviews:

http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii-u/edge

But I can't find any info on Rush. OK, found one review: http://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/wiiu-eshop/rush

For $2 each I'll get them. I did pick up a few of those discounted eShop cards from Best Buy - I might as well use them!

And what the hell, I'll get Mega Man X too. I've never played a Mega Man game (and may never do so) but my son might like it.

I have both games on Steam and I like them. They are very decent games and for the price, well worth it to have it as part of your collection on the Wii U.

I played both on Steam as well and Edge is excellent. Rush isn't bad either but I enjoyed it less.

Not a deal, but today's Nintendo Direct revealed that Golf will be added to Wii Sports today and a pretty cool looking game called NES Remix will also be out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUu5mGEcLFA

I'll probably bite on both since I'm close to getting another $5 code for the digital deluxe promo. Also, Dr. Luigi was announced and will be out next week.

I'd wait on buying Wii Sports Club Golf only because Gamestop my offer it cheaper as they did (and still do) with Tennis and Bowling.

The new deals for today:

Chasing Aurora - $3.99 - 50% Off - Ends 1/2

Nano Assault Neo - $7.99 - 20% Off - Ends 1/5

This is the first time they've shown up for me, as they weren't in the Sales section of the eShop on Monday.

Either way, if you notice something random has gone on sale, feel free to mention it so I can update the OP.

Per an email I just got from Nintendo, eShop cards are going back on sale at Best Buy next week. 20% off again. I regret missing out last week. Definitely going to stock up this time.

I bought Nano Assault 2 days ago for $9.99.

Can I get a refund? :''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''(

This is excellent news! Can't wait to stockpile on them. Also have to remember to pick up a couple 2000 Wii Points cards as well, should they be on sale also (which they were last time).

Might be a stupid question, but can I stock up on eShop cards but not redeem them yet? I didn't realize that you can only have $200 in your eShop account
