Whoa! What? How did you get these deals? Does Gamestop sell eShop codes or something? I want in on this. I have all those, but they might have something else I want! Well done, sir.
http://www.gamestop.com/collection/eshop

Not at the prices that he's mentioning, so I'm not sure how those are available at those prices either.
I finished up the rest of the lionheart app $5 coupons I had. I did each eshop code on separate transactions and use a $5 lionheart coupon on each one.

I never played the Battle Network series for more than 20 minutes but I miiiight check it out, given that I'm a pretty huge Mega Man fan.

Hahaha xD

I'm just really happy about this, I would have preferred they brought them to the 3DS too with Cross-Buy support but the game plays fine with the Wii U Pro controller.
Fixed that for ya. Sony in particular is so generous with Cross Buy that I wonder how much longer Nintendo can go without doing it just to be competitive. I know I sound like a broken record but it prevents me from buying a lot more than I would otherwise.

MS doesn't do it aside from the rarest of circumstances where some content transfers (even though they don't have the handheld option just cross generational) so I don't think that's going to stop Nintendo from being successful. I would like to see it but of course but there's lots of things that I would like to see Nintendo do with their digital that they aren't likely to do anytime soon.

I think Nintendo doesn't care too much because they don't make cross platform games. (Smash doesn't count) Just another middle finger to third party devs really.

I want a child of light sale.
Me too. This is one I know I should have supported day one. (I hope it's selling well without me... :( ) I have just never been totally sure which platform I want it on. Wii U would be nice, but if there's a Vita version, maybe that one. I'll surely get it on Steam eventually when it's $1 or something ridiculous. But I do wish that I would have just bought it when it first came out... on something... Maybe it's sold poorly and no one will ever take chances on turn-based RPGs again.

The thing that irks me is that a lot of their VC stuff is multiplatform. Well... okay... I guess it's just their NES stuff... but still. If they were brilliant, they would let you buy it once and get it on both 3DS and Wii U (system seller!), and they would add cloud support for the saves and make a big deal out of how you can play at home and on-the-go. (But I guess they shoot themselves in the foot slightly, because playing on a TV or on the Gamepad is a selling point for the Wii U... even though the range of the pad doesn't go much further than the sofa for me... can't even play on the pot or in the kitchen!)

Sorry, drinking tea makes me wordy.

I wonder what the odds are of NES Remix 2 getting a sale before the physical release? That's the kind of game I don't really want to bother putting in a disc for...

Well, usually retail titles aren't cross-buy so I wouldn't count a game like Smash Bros, and MS doesn't have many online-only offerings that are multiplatform. The few they have, they want to be an incentive to upgrade (such as Peggle 2 launching ~6 months earlier on the Xbone). Games like Guacamelee could be an exception but the new/upgraded version isn't available on PS3 or Vita so it's a moot point.

This. For VC stuff, their strategy is all kinds of backwards. The clearest example is launching SMB3 on both the 3DS and Wii U on the same day and making a big deal out of it, but not having cross-buy support. Despite the fact I've played the living hell out of that game, I'd probably spend $5 to have it on both systems. Having to choose between the two for such an ancient game that's been ported to so many other platforms? Nope.

They are sitting on a gold mine of software that people WANT to buy on their new hardware, but have created a bunch of self-imposed barriers that are completely out of touch with what people expect in terms of the market now. More than Sony, Apple and Google's models have really set the standard. Got an iPhone 5 and iPad? Got a Galaxy S4 and Nexus 7? We don't give a shit! Pay once and download it to all your devices, go nuts.

Super Mario Kart got a surprise release today:

:x. I want a GBA sale.
How about $1.50 upgrade fee for us 3DS users who already own the games through the Ambassador Program... or better yet, free since our 3DS's and Wii U's are connected with the same NNID's ;). They really expect us to pay $7.99 + tax again per each game, just to get them on our Wii U's? C'mon now! Just, no! lol.

GBA games have save states on Wii U, right? They don't have them on 3DS nor can they go into sleep mode, so they don't utilize two major features that you'd want for them on 3DS.
True, no save states/restore points or sleep mode. Its disappointing.

The Wii U Version also has smoothing which is pretty much upscaling for the GBA Games

There is an adapter for the GameCube called the AGP that does save states for GBA games, I also think the original game boy player for GameCube does them but correct me if I am wrong

Also the AGP does screenshot saves

I don't think we've had a sale on the first yet, so it's unlikely.
There was that sale where you buy a select game and get NES Remix for $10.

You're wrong.

Ufouria takes heavy inspiration from the first Metroid, as you navigate a large world consisting of multiple areas, finding new abilities along the way to help you reach extra items and even more locations. Originally released in Japan as Hebereke, it stars Sunsoft's original mascot, Hebe, who, along with some other characters in the game, was made to look slightly different for the western release.

It's one of only three games in the series released outside Japan, and curiously enough, none of those three were released in North America, only in Europe and Australia. Ufouria is the most infamous of the bunch: it's one of the rarest NES games around and a complete English copy can go for hundreds of dollars on auction sites, if you're lucky enough to even see one of them.

Hebe, now known as Bop-Louie and resembling a snowman more than a penguin, has somehow ended up in a strange world with all three of his friends missing, so naturally, he sets out to find them. Although the general idea is very similar to Metroid, there are very few ability-granting powerups to find in Ufouria. Most of the new areas can be accessed by locating your friends; each has their own special skill they can use to great advantage, which means you'll have to switch between characters as the situation calls for it.

Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails - $4.99 - 50% Off - Ends 8/21

Gaiabreaker - $14.99

Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge - GBA - $6.99

Soon Shine - $1.99

XType Plus - $2.99

It's pretty good for the price. It centers around just fighting a boss that gets harder to fight/kill each wave as you dodge bullets while shooting at it's limbs and then the head. There are two modes with a survival mode and a normal mode where you have a few lives to start with. No Off TV Play support is my big negative.
Going to pick up Scram Kitty and Xtype +. Anyone try xtype yet?
xtype is very fun. Totally worth $3.

got it before reading these, i love it. it's pretty simple and probably not worth $3 but for $1 it would've been perfect. love these types of games.

SteamWorld Dig is out next week along with that Mercedes Benz DLC for Mario Kart 8.

Well, I know the Wii U has the little thing in the corner to read those kind of figures, like Pokémon Rumble or Smash Bros.

That's just for Nintendo's figures since it's a proprietary thing. I don't think it would work on Disney Infinity anyway since their base has specific spots for up to three figures/discs and the gamepad would only allow one at best.

For the figures? You need the base that it comes with it on Wii U and possibly any other platform besides Xbox 360 if it's anything like the Skylanders portals.
Blast, I've got the 360 version and was hoping to change systems since I haven't played it yet and would much rather have 2.0 on the same system. Oh well :(

Any idea if Infinity gives credit for the digital download promotion? Would be cool to get a free $5 credit like they did with the Mario Kart 8 promotion.

That's pretty cool to release Disney Infinity for free. Looks like you can get a base for around $12 on ebay. Any cheaper ways? I've got all the figures from 360 already.
