They're live. New Releases:

Super Mario 64 - N64 - $9.99 - 89 MB

Yoshi's Island DS - DS - $9.99 - 110 MB

I don't recall the DS follow-up to Yoshi's Island getting much praise, so that doesn't seem like the greatest title to kick off the DS games on Wii U. DS games are only playable with the GamePad for obvious reasons, though I'm curious to see how it works with a better game.

That's actually good news since it allows me to get Paper Mario and 64 from CN. Not that I want to spend $2 each.

anybody here able to log in and redeem their reward on club nintendo?
It'll work, but it takes ages to actually log in. It's sort of amazing that they have a website that can endure such heavy traffic without imploding, but it might as well just go down because logging in takes so long that I move to another tab, come back later, find out I was logged in, and was then logged out due to inactivity.

Yeah, this is the time to do it when most people are still asleep.

CN will be missed:

Mario 64 and Paper Mario are definite downloads for me. Hope to see more obscure games from both the N64 and DS libraries hit the Virtual Console. Would love to get Mischief Makers and the 64 Mystical Ninja games.

Is this the lowest Pikmin has gotten on the eshop? Now that it's effectively out of print, I expect I'll end up getting it digitally at some point. Not sure if I should just go ahead and bite now.

Hmm, might have to get that Capt. Toad.    Don't really have time for it right now, but that's probably the cheapest it'll be for a bit.

Looks comparable to Kirby Canvas Curse/Ranbow Curse as your drawing paths and moving your character entirely with the stylus. Never played it myself, but reviews from back in the day seem good. I'll pick it up for a tenner.

:x tempted for captain toad. This hot chick I know likes toad. She's asian too. Not just 1 asian. She's multiple asians. Omfg.. I'm so turned on right now.

Pretty Hyrule Warriors is a part of the sale, too. Just has a price glitch in the eshop right now. That or it's being incorrectly grouped in with the Spring sale games.

Either way, stoked on the sale on Chariot so soon! Will be playing that tonight.

The reviews for that Affordable Space Adventures game have my interest piqued. Seems like it is one of the few games that uses the gamepad in an interesting way.

Touch n Go is still as fun as I remember and I'm still not all that good at it. The price is pretty nuts, always was, but as a score attack minigame and touch screen gimmick demo it has something special going for it. I think there's ten bucks worth of quality to it but ten bucks for the rest of you? Eh, only you can answer that.

Unfortunately, the DS screen options are pretty dire for WiiU. The best view for TnG is that DS simulator screen which makes everything small. You have a side-by-side view that blows up either screen that will work better for future games but games that rely on screen continuity are going to be a pain for the WiiU in the future, I think.

Still, I am just happy to have three of the four great Warioware games accessible on one box. Now they just need to port Twisted with the Gamepad motion controls.

I've heard great things about Captain Toad, but I really didn't dig the Captain Toad levels in SM3DW. Is enough different/deeper in the full game that I would enjoy it more?

Club Nintendo closing messed with my head.  Now I'm hesitant to buy anything from Nintendo until they get their new loyalty program up.

It's probably not worth waiting unless you have a massive backlog, for all we know the new program could be absolute shit.

Yeah a flash drive does work fine but since you can only use one may as well just splurge for a cheap HDD.

Because they have limited read/write cycles and because games can read/write heavily and/or erratically it can accelerate that. Realistically it wouldn't ever affect most people but it could.
Don't their 3DS and DS carts us flash memory?

I've only had my Wii U since Christmas, so my backlog there is only like 20 games.
I just got my Wii U 2 days ago so my Wii U backlog is only 2 games. :) Currently playing Super Mario World 3D. Backlogged Nintendo Land and NES Remix Pack. Nintendo backlog is going to grow swiftly what with all the NES, SNES, N64, AND DS games available, and me being an old fogey (in my 40's), nostalgia is big for me. Now the PC(1180), PS3(75), 360(22), PS4(14) backlogs are just brutal. Thankfully I have refrained from an Xbone so far. I oftentimes wonder how many games i'll never actually get to. But there is a certain comfort knowing they are there when and if I want to play them. ;)
