Barring an unexpected development from the other two camps, Wii U will be supporting a standard rendering pipeline. Basically Wii versions of third party games had to be built 'from scratch' while Wii U games can be 'downgraded' in the visuals department.
So basically what this means is we should expect to see pretty solid third party support from Japanese studios with established franchises. We are already looking at MH4, Bayonetta 2, and DQX. I am expecting nothing but scraps from Western devs though. The days of a Nintendo (or any other company) machine being an 'end-all, be-all' like the SNES era are over for good though.
