idk if this has been posted already im to lazy to search but i got an email from dvdtalk today and they said that best buy had the wild arms box for $10.99 so i went to bb and sure enough they had 1 left and it rung up for $10.99.

Must be a pricing error since it is $30.99 online right now. Too bad none of the stores around me has it in stock.

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted here yet, actually. Best Buy clearanced a whole bunch of (mostly) ADV titles a few weeks back, including gems like Super GALS, Kaleido Star, and three of the four FMP Fumoffu discs. If your store doesn't have any of these in stock, go to one of their kiosks in-store and log into their website to place your order. These prices will show up so long as you're logging into their website from a B&M store. I placed my order using this method a little over two weeks ago, and got every last item I ordered in about a week's time.
I've been eyeing that Chrono Crusade set for a while...I'll give this a try tomorrow. Thanks Kirin!
Its pretty good. I've finally finished it.

And knowing that the Samurai X OVA collection is at that price, thats like too good to be true. And I was saving money for a DS. HAH!

Are the following worth it?

Elfen Lied Vol. 1 (w/ art box): $10.99
Gilgamesh Vol. 3: $7.99
Gantz
Samurai Gun Vol. 1 (w/ art box): $6.99
Samurai Gun Vol. 3, 4: $7.99
The Place Promised in Our Early Days: $7.99

Basically, Play magazine said these were all 9's or above. I haven't watched any really good anime in a while.

I'm prolly most interested in Gilgamesh. Samurai Gun seems trumped by Samurai Champloo, and Gantz and Elfen Leid seemed like things done before.

Reference: I enjoy Cowboy Bebop (right, who doesn't?), Witch Hunter Robin, Vampire Hunter D, and to some extent anything that is psychological in nature (Akira, Paranoia Agent, Lain...). I prefer something that oscillates from seriousness to humor (Cowboy Bebop is the perfect example.)

I actually enjoyed gantz although a lot of ppl i told to watch it didnt. its basically an anime you watch if you just want some senseless violence but then again so is elfen lied out of those 2 id say get gantz. As for samurai gun I didnt like it at all it was really generic. Gilagamesh is actually really good although i havent seen past the 3rd dvd. And as for place promised if youve seen voices of a distant star and liked that youll like place promised. Place promised is basically a love story. So i guess what im trying to say in this long rant is that the only one i would suggest you definitely stay away from is samurai gun. But thats just my opinion ^_^

And as for the prices gantz i think youre better off buying the thin packs i think it comes out a bit cheaper. As for everything else the price isnt bad.

I liked Yugo the Negotiator , I go the first 2 dvd of the Pakistan Arc.

I've been checking my BB like crazy for the next 2 dvds but they never get them in. With prices that low, I might well see if I can ask them to order it.

I actually disliked all those except The Place Promised in Our Early Days, which I enjoyed more for the art and direction than the actual story. Though if you are the type that likes the psychological type series Gilgamesh may be your style, that was actually the main reason why I didn't like what I saw of it (that and the characters seemed redunant/bland)

Ditto on everything Duo just said.

Gantz and Elfen Lied basically showcase violence for violence's sake, and both of them have main casts that act completely illogical at all times. Frustrating mediocrity.

i personally think Elfen Lied is AMAZING....the end of every episode just really makes you want to watch the next one...and all the characters are REALLY interesting...i love it

and how long will this price cut last? cuz i won't be able to get down to best buy til like the weekend...

The price cut is a permanent drop. I'd move to try and snag em before they're gone.

If anyone stumbles across the 2nd or 4th Gatchaman box set and picks it up for me, I'll be your best friend forever (and paypal you for cost/s&h/trouble).

Gah! Why did no one post this. Im definately heading to best buy now. I hope you're right about the website thing because i want that Excel Saga collection and no stores within a couple hundred miles have it in stock. Ill post if i find any other deals.

*Edit*

Just got back from Best Buy. They didnt have ANY of the dvds marked on clearance lower than the anime sale they did back in january. Most of the dvds listed as $7-9 were all clearance stickered with $15.99. But I was able to go onto their website through the Kiosk and order Excel Saga & Elfen Lied 1 w/ Box for the sale prices (those were the two i most wanted).

It's just one of the computers scattered around BB. You can log onto bestbuy.com from any of them I think, and order what you want at the clearance prices.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but when you order these DVDs at Bestbuy, can you get them shipped to you, or will they only be shipped to the store? I live well over an hour away from a BB store, so making one trip and having the orders sent to me would be preferred to making multiple trips, even if I have to pay more for shipping.

And yeah, where are these kiosks anyway? I can't remember ever seeing one. >_<

Thank you!

Yes, you can have them shipped to you, just as if you were placing an order on their website from your home. Supposedly the connection is secure, so you don't have to be nervous about inputting your credit card information. Just remember to log out when you're done!

Every Best Buy should have at least one computer in the store where you can access their website, along with some other features I've never paid attention to. Our store has two or three of these things. Apparently the website can tell if you're logging in from a store, so the super-low B&M prices show up for these items instead.

I've never seen a kiosk at any Best Buy before, but the employee terminals in various aisles are never manned. Maybe I'll try from one of those. ;)

I tried to use one, it didn't work, but a nice employee lady pointed to the actual kiosk (and even brought me a chair).

This sale really hurts, only because excel saga is the only anime show I ever paid almost full price for (that is, $20-25 times six). We all have one of those... right?

Hmm, I tried ordering Mezzo complete collection online and it shows as 29.99. Is the sale over for some of the items? I went to the store today too and they were oos.

Please read the first post I made in this thread carefully. Two or three times if you have to.

I did read your post. I just mis read the last part. I asked a worker there and they didn't know what a kiosk was. I'll go again later to order. It's about less than a mile from my house anyways. Plus I was on a time schedule so I couldn't stay longer to find the exact details.

If anyone could pick up or order Excel Saga for me I would be eternally grateful and could pay by paypal or money order. I cant go on my own. :(

Bad thing about Excel Saga is that its backordered. They say they'll have it in 1-2 weeks. But i'd imagine its OOP since theres a new thinpak out now. Lets just hope they fill the backorder.

That was one of the items I ordered a few weeks back, and it arrived no problem. Of course, it wasn't on backorder then, but I wouldn't give up hope just yet.

Kirin Lemon THANK YOU!

Got excel saga and a bunch of others. I'm hoping excel saga does come since its the one I wanted the most.

Would this work on anything B&M thats at an advertised price? Or on games that are on clearance?
Just checked out the Allentown, PA BB but no luck finding any Wild Arms box sets
You should be able to order it at a kiosk.

Thanks so much for this!

I went this morning, and it worked like a charm. I ordered Kaleido Star, Excel Saga, Wild Arms, and The Place Promised With The Really Long Title I Forget.

Don't forget your password. I couldn't remember mine, so I had to create a new Best Buy account.

Excellent, thank you for the info!

And like everyone else it appears, I'm most interested in Excel Saga. ~$20 is a hell of a deal! Mezzo looks pretty cool too.

Good post, Kirin Lemon. I went down and picked up the super GALS DVD set, today. Later, I might head down and order an Excell Saga set.

Just saw some episodes of Chrono Crusade on Showtime tonight... it was pretty damn good. I think for $34.99 it'll be worth getting the real thing rather than a bootleg. Finally some anime that's actually affordable!

Thanks OP!

I rented it and thought it was one of the worst shows I have ever seen. I took my loss and returned them the same day. I thought they were that bad. I would only watch them if someone paid me, even free is too expensive.

I didnt think it was that bad, but to each their own. I feel the same way about every Gundam series. You'd have to pay me a lot to sit down through one of those shows.
showtime shows anime???
I get some channel called Showtime Beyond which shows sci-fi type things, and last night they showed Episodes 2, 3, and 4 of Chrono Crusade, as well as three episodes of Fist of the North Star.

Watched all three ep's of Chrono Crusade, it was a fun little series. Unless the quality goes drastically downhill in the later ep's I think it will be a worthwhile buy.

One series I didn't like so much was Mezzo, watched an episode on Anime on Demand and thought it was boring as hell.

I got the DVD set of super GALS, even though I'd never seen it before.
It's pretty interesting; alot like Kodocha, if that means anything to any of you.
