Will disc based game saves work with digital versions of games?

This months GwG is Rayman Legends. I have a physical copy and was thinking about getting the digital version and trading in the physical copy. Will the game saves work with the digital copy? 

Edit... Took the risk and deleted the physical copy installed files. Opened downloaded copy and the game saves were there.

Yeah, that should be the same across every game.

Results may vary if you trade in, say, a physical copy of a game, then buy the "Game of the Year" digital edition. Most should work in that instance as well but I've heard a few cases where it does not.
