I ordered a pre-played game from EBgames.com and the label on it is pretty destroyed. I haven't taken it out of the plastic packaging that EB sent it in.

Clearly i'm whiny and a n00b, but is there a chance that an EB store would exchange it for one that is in better condition? Or should I just suck it up since this is what is expected from used games from EB?

If a game doesn't work you can exchange it in-store, but I'm not sure about condition exchanges. If you want you could just go to an EB and tell them it doesn't work and they'll probably give you another, if they have the game in stock.

Do you mean the label on the package or the order form? If you have the order form, you can take it back to EB cause they just ask for the order form when exchanging/ returning.

I haven't tried it, but I think not. They don't even guarantee their preowned games will come with the packaging.

I have done it before no problems, label was ripped, I pointed this out and they offered either a refund or exchange since I just got it.

I did it before too. I got a copy of Mega Man X with a torn label from EB Games.com, and I took it into the local EB to return it. They had a copy of Mega Man X there, so I just exchanged it. One clerk said they weren't supposed to do it, but the other said he knew they could and would do it.

The best part is that the copy of Mega Man X they had seemed to be still sealed; it didn't have the shrinkwrap, but the side seals were in tact. Someone had apparently traded in a bunch of sealed SNES games, because I picked up Robotrek, and the clerk said they also had had Mega Man X2 and X3.

I've done it before, as well. I ordered Advance Wars and the label was torn in the middle. I took it to EB and asked if they had any copies in better condition. He gave me another one in perfect condition and that was it.

I'm pretty sure they will. I've done it twice. It might simply depend on how nice the employees are, but I can't imagine them not granting you an even exchange.

Yes they do, with current generation games.

Are you referring to the label on the disc or cartridge, or the label on the case? I'm pretty sure they'd exchange it for you, if you're that dissatisfied. What kind of game is it? If not, just tell them that it doesn't work right, and they'll do it.
