Will my nintendo eshop credit carry over to a new 3DS ?

I am trading in my personal cosmo black 3ds to amazon (With that outrageous offer they had for a minute). I have another 3ds handheld, will my $30 eshop credit from my old black 3ds get transfered over to my other 3ds ? The $30 eshop credit was from the FireEmblem/SMTIV deal a while back.

If I setup my same account on the new 3ds will my $30 eshop credit transfer over to the new 3ds ?

No, it will not. The only way for eShop credit to transfer is to do a complete system transfer. Just setting up the same Club Nintendo account doesn't do jack for funds. It just tracks purchases for coins.

^bingo. Gotta do a full system transfer or you don't transfer your balance. There really isn't any account to speak of on your 3ds, it just links to Club Nintendo for the purpose of surveys.
