Will THe Guy Game have any long term value?

To those of you who haven't seen it, IGN reported here http://ps2.ign.com/articles/632/632112p1.html that The Guy Game was banned by the government and pulled off all retail shelves. I can't imagine this ever sold very much in the first place, and now that it's no longer available, it'll probobly be a tough one to get. Is this going to have any long term value, or will it just end up being oine of those games that's hard to get, but not worth much because it's so awful? I could see this game having some value as simply an oddity of video games, like X-Men or Custers Revenge on 2600. I saw a few copies of this for PS2 ont he shelf still at Blockbuster today, but they were 30 bucks. I might have taken the bait for 20, but30 is just too much. What do you think?
 
Probably not, there probably is never going to be any demand for it seeing as how it has been widely distributed. Plenty of games have been discontinued and arent sold in stores anymore and they arent collectors item. Also the guy game is a heaping pile of crap, that other then a couple of really decent minigames between the (sub-girls gone wild nudity) have no redeeming features
 
On eBay prices are already reaching the $60 range for new copies, so I'd assume that this one's gonna be expensive at least in the short term.
 
Was it actually "banned" or did the company voluntarily decide to pull it?
And if so, why was it banned? I recall the issue about it having a girl who was
 
It shouldn't. It wasn't that rare, and it's a big steaming pile. I'm sure people will want it for collectability, but even a rare turd is still just a turd.
 
No. Right now, just after it was officially banned, I'm sure that some people will try to talk it up like it's gonna be rare and valuable in the future, but it's not. Ignore it.

Nope, I see them all the time too. Even at Fry's. Must have at least 8-12 copies everytime I stop by there.
 
It might have had some value if it was actually pulled from the stores quickly, but it wasn't. Everybody knew it was going to be banned so people ran out and bought copies in hope that it would someday return a profit. Besides that, usually bad games + rarity (not that it applies to The Guy Game) usually doesn't = raised value. A crappy game is a crappy game. Only the hardcore collectors will have any intrest in it.

The game wasn't banned, people. This is just a stupid marketing ploy by the company in order to generate interest in their incredibly stupid game that isn't worth the plastic it's made out of. Don't go out and spend money on this, when there are 32423465788 other games that are better and can be had for the same price.

It was banned because it had a 17 year old girl in it, dumbass.

Pulling a game of the shelf would be the dumbest marketing ploy ever.
