Will Wright, Creator of The Sims, Confirms Spore For The Nintendo Wii

"In an interview with The Guardian, Will Wright confirms that Spore, the god game which allows players to control the evolution of a species from its existence as a multicellular organism to a complex spacefaring creature, is being made for the Nintendo Wii. In February, executives from EA confirmed that it was being made for the Nintendo DS too. I definitely expect the PC version of the game to be the one to get (if your computer can run it), but hopefully the Wii version isn't too far behind. If you haven't following up on Spore, check out Amazon.com's product page for the PC version to see a trailer."

Thats cool pretty cool with the wii's wiimote it will be close to a mouse and keyboard which works well with these type of games.

I vote idiot.

I'll probably rent the Wii version. Ideally I'd like it for the PC though. Ds will likely be crap sadly :(

Since Spore's online functionality seems to not be "vs" at all, depending more on updating your "single player universe" with content from other players while you're not around, this seems like a pretty perfect fit for the Wii.
However, very recently Wright confirmed that their will be a Wii version of spore, and that the Wii version will be the only next gen console for spore to come out on.
Hmmm... Since Will Wright doesn't consider PS3 and XBOX360 to be next-gen, this entry tells me nothing.

On a serious note, all signs and statements point to April. See Wikipedia for the break-down. No official confirmation of the launch date as of yet, however.

Hey, Happy Love Monster from Spore will KILL YOU if you keep talking like that!

I really want to get excited about this title but I think I'm going to hold off on that until I see some screenshots or videos of the Wii Version of Spore...
