The Edge card is for sale for $5 at retail EBgames locations that will give you 10% off used games for 1 year and can be used in conjunction with AFF15 and SAVER coupon codes for a total of 25% off with free shipping.

I picked up mine this weekend.

Yes, but now you can use them online. And they removed AFF25, so you have to use PPLAY15 and your Edge card to receive the 25% off (although it stacks with SAVER so its really a better deal).

Could I use my employee discount as well? I can get 25% off in-store with my employee discount + Edge card.. I wonder if I could milk this for 35% off? There's gotta be a way..
 
I used the hell out of AAF25 and got capped......anyone know if there's a limit on PPLAY15 and SAVER??

If not then I'll get one this week.
 
Im never buying anything from eb ever again. After they tried to sell me an open game as new, I was done. I don't care how good of a sale they have.
 
I rarely, if ever, buy used games, so it's not really of much value to me. I'll save that money to renew my BB Zoner card. I love that thing. :)

I asked if there was a cap on AFF15 and I was told there wasn't one, other than a $50 discount per order.
 
I bought the Edge Card the day AFF25 became obsolete. I already have a savings of well more than $5.00 since then, it's definitely worth $5!

the guy at the EB near me said they were gonna separate the card from the mag, charging more for the mag sub and only $5 for the card. I was like F*** off and walked out. I don't if that is true or not but I don't like B&M EB's anyway.

Nick....did they just do something that frustrated you but eventually made good (like a refund or what you originally asked for) or actually rip you off? If it's the former, I'd say that if they have a really good deal there's no shame in taking them up on it. Even if they try to scam occasionally and aren't the most ethical, 25% off, free shipping and guaranteed box and manual are too much for me to turn down, even though I also hate EB.
 
No, there are so many deals as it is new game are often as cheap if not chaper than used. Just in the past few months the clearances have been better than any used deals (TRU, CC).

Plus I just like buying new, I bought one game from EB used and they couldn't find the manual. I like having complete and unopened ( unitl I open it) games.

I got it a few months ago and it already had that yellow sticker on it.
 
I don't think you need the Edge card for the extra 10% off online. I just used the number on the back of an EB gift card I got when I returned a game, and got the extra 10% off that way.

that was a poor decision, because (unless they changed it from when i had mine) they go by the month, so if you would have bought it on wednesday you would have 1 extra month
 
Nope, I won't be getting one. You'd have to buy $50 in used junk in just one year from EB to break even. I could see myself maybe getting near that, maybe. So I'd rather save the $5. I'd rather just buy from eBay lately.

Exception would be if they drop a bunch of POed prices one day and it works out to where I want to buy 10 or so games all at one pop. That'd be the only thing I could see that would make it worth my while. But since (I think) you can only buy the card at B&M stores I might not want to wait to do that even in this scenario.

Plus if they decided to retire one or both of the currently stackable extra codes at some point after I bought this card I'd go ape.

Nope, you can get 15% off and free shipping online without the card. So you are netting only an additional 10% off using the card. So you'd save an additional $2 if you used the card on a $20 game.

At the B&M I believe you would just get 10% off and that's it so again you'd save $2. (At least that is what I gather from this page: http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/help/ordering/EBEdgeCardHelp.asp )

If the card gave you 25% at the B&M plus the additional 10% off online that would really up the value, but alas such is not the case.

EB has never and never will have a CC like sale, not even a TRU like sale.

EB edge for $5? Last time I checked it was $15 (up from $10) in Jacksonville. Is there some type of special deal? Better call my contact to make sure. :idea:
 
I just bought one taday. What's funny is that I took advantage of the buy 2 used games and get one free and they actually paid me fifty cents for the free game. God deal and I didn't have to sign up for another magazine that I'm not going to read in the first place.
