Well, as long as it's there at all, I'm happy. But I still hope my other concerns will eventually be addressed.

Already bought Space and Star Wars on my windows 8 laptop so don't really need them on wp7....and with no achievements Im definitely not getting them.

Thanks for the info, Jobbercho!

And boy, I sure am meeting some real winners on this game. One guy is currently accusing me of cheating because I played "vial". Seriously? I guess I can't be too surprised; his best words are "f*g" [bundle of sticks] and "ton"...unless you count all of the times he has added an "S" to the end of one of my words.

Then there is another guy who I suspect of cheating just because his quality of words drastically improved halfway through the game. He started off with normal everyday words being played poorly and then when he got far behind, it turned into shit I've never even heard of (and I play a lot of word games). But I'm not calling him out on it because I really can't prove anything. Besides, I'm still kicking his ass, so it's not like I have much to complain about.

Overall, I'm actually doing a lot better at this than I expected. I've never been very good at Scrabble for some reason, but this has been going well. So far, the only person I have trouble beating is my wife (not physically, of course; that's easy). Every time we play, I get nothing but vowels.

then there's the people who accuse you of cheating because you spell 4 letter words or higher. sorry if my vocabulary doesn't consist of only dog, cat, moo, mat

and a good amount of words can be artificially extended. -er, re-, -iest, -s, -es

don't hate because I know a 4 letter word that can be -iest. it's not rocket science.

Zombie - I suspect some of my games are like that too though. Right now in at least 2 of my games I've got no vowels to use for a good 3 or 4 turns. So my words are going to quickly go from met to remediate.

And I love the word qi. Man I kill with that. Sometimes you fall into being able to do Qi both horizontal and vert at the same time, or on a triple/double. lol

Right, which is another reason why I haven't outright accused anyone yet. But I think some folks are suspicious when I see them 3- and 4-letter words almost the entire game and not even getting the most out of the letters or playing on the boost tiles...and then all of a sudden, they're using words like "rioja" and "ripieno". I've pulled some interesting words out my ass, but my play style is pretty consistent. But hey, you can never really know for sure, so I just go with it and have fun. As long as I still win, I don't care if they're cheating. Ha ha.

In a game I'm playing right now, it has gone the other way around for me; I started strong and now all I have is crap. I opened with a 7-letter word and have cleared out my letters once or twice more since then. But now, I'm stuck using words like "nail" and "rods" because I just don't have anything to work with (didn't think of trying "qi"). Of course, my opponent isn't helping matters. I think his highest-scoring word in the last few rounds was "no".

I've had pretty good luck with everyone I've played so far, for the most part they seem to be playing fair.

One guy I played I beat fairly easily, he played nothing but normal words and definitely wasn't cheating. So I challenged him to a rematch to get that achievement, and his first 3 words have been "MAISTS", "GYVES", and "ANON". I definitely have no idea what maists or gyves are? If he keeps it up I will just slow play him (play one word every few days) and if I see he starts getting close to scores for achievements I'll just stop playing and let the game resign me.

Also, nice domestic violence joke. :applause:

Joke? Who's joking?

But yeah, I've had that happen too (not in AlphaJax, but in similar games). You beat someone and then they come back with a vastly improved vocabulary. Oh well, at least cheaters eventually start thinning out after a while. I can imagine it must be pretty boring to just sit there and do whatever a computer tells you to do.

Also, I meant to comment on something you said earlier:
You don't automatically win the game after 72 hours of inactivity? That's how Wordament is, it's real nice.
Did you mean Words With Friends perhaps?

A little more than half of my 30 games are inactive for 3 days, so a week can't come soon enough. Didn't realize from the start that it challenges a random person who may not even be playing. Now I know to just wait for invites.

I actually meant Wordfeud. Sorry, too many similarly named games.

Anyone else spend any time with Cracking Sands? It can be fun at times but it's incredibly infuriating. I am constantly running into invisible mines or getting hit with invisible weapons that bring me to a complete halt. If this game had a little bit more polish it could have been pretty good.

EDIT: Apparently Cracking Sands has avatar awards. That's a big plus at least.

Happen to know what kind of avatar awards? I'm a sucker for avatar awards ;)

Cracking Sands' awards are a top hat and an aviator hat with the goggles pushed up.

I'm a huge sucker for them too. I'll make sure to buy multi-platform games on the 360 if I know they have avatar awards. (Latest example is Jet Set Radio)

I love them as well, it's a great addition. I wish more 360 games had themes you could unlock.

Crimson Dragon also has some unlockable avatar awards...they are a bit cheesy but still fun to earn.

The shirt from Crimson Dragon is great
Kinda scared we won't have an Xbox release this week...
Wow the lameness continues. That's 1 new game in the last 3 weeks, if I'm remembering correctly...

Totally not the best place to ask this, but since you guys are a good source of WP knowledge, I figured I'd throw this out here.

Anyone having trouble with the Windows Phone app for PC? I downloaded the Windows Phone for desktop from Microsoft's site, and installed it. When I go to launch it, I get an error message about something going wrong, and the app needs to close. It also says I can call Microsoft for support help, but I'd rather avoid doing that.

Trying to sync up some photos and music to my Lumia 920, and Zune didn't seem to be working well. The MS website says to use this program, and it doesn't want to work either.

Sorry guys, I'm jumping ship again, and no game releasing this week just reaffirms my decision.

I really liked WP8, but I thought things would be different game wise. I was hopeful when Angry Birds in space, Star Wars and Cut the Rope all hit at the same time. Then we get nothing for how long? At a time when iOS is pumping out games with huge sales to boot?

Sigh :/

Yeah, I don't now why MS can't get their act together. They knock it out of the park with Xbox but fall flat with WP.

I found an iPhone 5 for 450.00 and sold my lumia for 400.00.

You can probably find an Avatar hat you like for a dollar if you browse the Avatar Store a bit.

Haha but can it beat this awesome top hat?

Don't feel alone with that sentiment. I too did not purchase Cracking Sands but would have if I knew it had avatar awards. I totally dig those. :) Oh well.

I noticed this link http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/mobile/windows-phone-8-games

It mentions 'holidays', and we are at the holidays, so wondering if these have been pushed back? I remember reading the developers from Fairway Solitare mention it took them 2 weeks to code the title from ios to WP8. I wish we would get some release dates on these titles.
Finally see what you guys were talking about with cheaters in Alphajax. 40+ point words every turn? Really? My average is 15. :applause:
I started playing against one guy last night who isn't even being subtle with it. In just the first three or four moves, he already has over 200 points. He uses all of his titles every turn and uses words I've never heard in my life (and I have a rather healthy vocabulary). Even if I were to start cheating, I wouldn't be able to catch up because I'm already too far behind. There's no way to report suspected cheaters, so I'm just going to draw the game out as long as I can and only make a move every 6 days (and maybe use as few tiles as possible). Then once the game is over, he's getting blocked.

Awesome. Was waiting on a sale for Contre Jour. Also, for anyone that missed Mush on black Friday I can't recommend it enough. The demo really doesn't do it justice. Great game.
Countdown to 2013 Sale

Contre Jour - 30% Off
Doodle Jump - 30% Off
geoDefense Swarm - 67% Off
iStunt 2 - 33% Off
Kinectimals - 67% Off
Mush - 50% Off
Hmmm.....this was unexpected. Gonna grab Contre Jour and iStunt 2. Paid full price Doodle Jump because I got tired of waiting for it to go on sale. Definitely worth it, one of the better WP games. Thanks nCogNeato.

Sale price not showing up in my phone and when I use the buy link, it goes back to full price. Oh well, I can wait till they become active.

In for that contre jour and probably kinectimals.
On the xbox dashboard it shows that they are all going to be $.99
Nice. Xbox.com has also been updated, listing all at $0.99. Now if they would just update the prices on the Marketplace. :whistle2:x

I had a feeling that I should have waited on Mush... but glad to see Doodle Jump is finally the price it is on iOS. Also, can anyone recommend iStunt2?
Nice. Xbox.com has also been updated, listing all at $0.99. Now if they would just update the prices on the Marketplace. :whistle2:x
Nice. I just saved $2 dollars!

Anyone having problems with Alphajax? I have the Lumia 920, and had toast notifications turned on. Whenever I would get a game invite or update, it would cause the phone to crash and the only way I could get it back on would be to hard boot by holding down the volume down and power buttons. Turning off toast has seemed to stop the issue.
interesting, they removed coutre jour and kinectimals from that list
That is fucking lame if they don't end up dropping in price. It looks like iStunt 2, Doodle Jump, and GeoDefense prices have updated, but Mush hasn't, nor has Coutre Jour and Kinectimals.

It's kind of like a microcosm of my experience with Xbox Live on Windows Phone. Do something good and cool, followed by something illogically bad.
interesting, they removed coutre jour and kinectimals from that list
Of course, the only 2 games I wanted.
