Rise of Glory is the DotW. Normally 2.99, it's down to 1.99.
Easy cheevos (sans glitches). I went ahead and bought it. It's hard for me to say no to a $2 game.

I'm on the fence with Sonic. It's a solid game, and I'd love to get the achievements, but the 6.99 price is holding me back.

I picked up Rise of Glory. Fun little game.
I don't think I'll ever spend $7 on a mobile game.
I am like you in the sense I'm addic,Ted to bargains and deals..it is a problem. So sonic at that price. No. I'll wait for the dotw which will happen someday..hopefully.

I am not buying Sonic. I have bought Sonic 1 thru 4 on XBLA when they were on sale. I've barely played any of them. I need to play those before buying the same game on WP7.

Sonic 4 really is 90% as good as the XBLA version (and exactly as long), so it's pretty special. I'm annoyed that you have to use tilt on the Special Stages though as (while fun for casual play) it makes them more difficult. As I said at WPC, paying $7 for a game that costs $15 on XBLA is sort of a good deal. But if you're not dying to play it right now, it couldn't hurt to wait for a sale.
Yeah, I played the Sonic 4 demo, and I was really surprised how accurate the controls felt compared to the XBLA version.
cool to hear it is really good, and almost as long. It is too bad my mental illness includes bargain compulsive disorder
Why are Windows phone games double or more in price than what they are on the iphone?
Welcome to the greedy world of Micro$oft

I think Microsoft is making some strides with WP7 and the new Mango update (this fall) is getting great reviews so far but they do really need to reevaluate the cost of these apps to make them competitive.

double/greedy? i question that all games are double or more in price, and greed I do not believe is the only reason for the prices. I am unsure, but I do not think MS dictates all the prices. Someone else in the field may be able to answer correctly. But for example, PopCap probably decides the price of PvZ, not MS. Is MS greedy? Maybe to a point, but I believe all business models think about the bottom line and a profit, that isn't greed, that is called running a business and making money. This entire website is about finding deals and getting things on the cheap, often times behavior of the consumer is greedy.

Regarding titles on other OS-I have an ipad and there are quite a few free games because they include a type of advertising; and Win7 has a lot of quality titles that are free as well, or cheap (1-2 dollars). If you are referring to 'Live' titles, well it has been said before in the thread that there is typically subtle differences between Win7 games and the other OS's that include 'live' connectivity (leaderboards-friends-online play through live, etc.), achievements, etc. More work is done to such titles, development costs, etc to include these. So is that worth a dollar or two more? In my opinion it is, but worth is subjective. What I find worth in a title/price, you may not, or visa-versa. You also have to remember that Win7 live games are still infant compared to ios and even android. I for one am not concerned about paying a dollar or two more on my win7 phone than on my ios/apple if it has live connectivity/achievements, but that is just me. I see Live games priced at 6.99 and I think "I'll wait", not because it is not worth 6.99, no, because I can wait and I like buying things on sale/discount. Same goes on my ios-there are a ton of games/applications that I see priced at 9.99 to 19.99 and I will never buy them until they are on sale.

I picked up Bejeweled 2, been waiting on that to go on sale since I got my Windows Phone.

I'll definitely get Angry Birds next week, but stuff like Sonic 4 and PvZ, I'm waiting until either next month or a price drop.

Any idea what we have to look forward to after these "Must have games?"

I need to check on Bejeweled 2 achievements to see the difficulty. I want to get angry birds-and I will at some point, but I have it on my pad, on my wife's android, so I will get it eventually once it is a DOTW.

Must have games-E3 had some interesting titles- Beards and Beaks, Splinter Cell, Let's Golf, Zomb1es (on teh ph0ne), Hasta La Muerta, Top Gun, and Tentacles. I have not seen all of those in action, but the few I have look intriguing. I am excited to see the Golf tentacles, and Beards personally. Tentacles is looking rather cool.

The extra cost of games on WP7 is worth it to me as I find a lot of value in Xbox Live achievements. For people that don't really care about that, then I agree that WP7 versions of games are a ripoff. Plus, iOS has gamecenter and it has achievements. I would assume the same game with achievements is still cheaper on iOS over WP7.

For those wondering about achievements in Bejeweled Live, I earned 35 points in my first game, so they're MUCH easier than the XBLA version.

I pulled the trigger on Bejeweled and PvZ today. This is the 5th time I've bought PvZ. :) I now have it on PC, Xbox 360, iPhone, iPad and WP7.

I'll prolly pick up both as well, but I waited on PvZ until there was a WP7 version, and at $5 it's a good price as well.

I got plants vs zombies. Its the first wm7 game I've purchased and had the Focus since the day it came out for my work phone. It will probably be the last unless they drop the ridiculous prices or I catch another game I like but don't own my android on sale.

I've gotten way behind on my reviews, but here's some new articles to share with you. To help us score more interviews, please comment on the interviews! It's not much effort and really helps us out.

WP7 Deal of the Week
womens-murder-club-lead.JPG

June 28

This is actually a pretty good game if you like hidden object games. Easy Achievements too.

Also thank you everyone for posting comments on the Babaroga interview. Very kind and helpful of you. No sarcasm at all, nor am I discouraged in any way.

I'll buy Women's Murder Club, making that the first WP7 game I've bought. Can't wait to hear from my friends when they see this in playlist.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

I have Angry Birds on my iPhone, but never played it for more than 20-30 minutes. Achievements might actually get me to finish this game. I don't see getting 3 stars on all the levels though.

My wife has been using her Windows phone for a bit now and really digs the casual game scene. Glad to stumble over this thread and have a place to check out releases, deals, and reviews. Great thread! :applause:

Same here. I had a lot of fun with Bubble Town 2 and I got all 200 points easily enough. It's just hideous, is all.

Will have the tomorrow's Deal of the Week in a few!

I'll probably pick that game up. I've tried the demo for it twice. I kind liked it, but not enough to buy it. It being a deal will probably get me to pull the trigger.

Will most def buy Magic Marker. Wanted this for a long time and waited for DOTW> I am debating on buying Beards and beaks-love the demo/trial and is only 2.99. Cool DLC offerings

Played the first couple levels of Max and the Magic Marker. Awesome game. Perfect for a smartphone, and the achievements seem pretty easy too.
