Oh man...I was bored earlier, so I cleared some room on my phone for the Contre Jour demo because I forgot that I hadn't tried it yet... I think I'm in love. I mean, it's just a cross between Tentacles and Cut The Rope and a million other collect-these-things-and-go-to-the-exit games, but I had a lot of fun with it. Microsoft really needs to give us a better way of storing game data so we can uninstall games without losing our data. I would have to delete a couple of games to make room for this (my phone lags/freezes otherwise) and I don't want to lose any progress.

sweet.getting Tentacles. And I'm in the same boat, Zombie. Running out of space. I've been deleting a lot of music I have saved on my phone lately. Only have like 500 mb of free space at the moment and I narrowed my music from like 1,000 songs to like 400.

I'd kill for 500 MB. My poor phone is barely chugging along as is and I'm not even sure what's taking up so much space. My apps take up about 120 MB and my games should only take up 600-800 MB. I already transferred all of my videos to my PC and I never had any music on my phone... Makes me wish I could find an app that shows you where all of your data is tied up, but I've had no luck.

I would just delete as many apps and games as possible. If you've finished off any games Achievement-wise, those should be the first to go. You do risk losing the game for good if it gets delisted, but what else can you do with so little space to store them?

Part of the problem is that I'm about halfway through all of these games. Achievements aren't a concern, but I definitely don't want to lose game progress, not even for the one or two I've completed. I already removed games that I hadn't started yet. I just wish Microsoft would save gameplay data to the GPD and make this a non-issue.

Exactly. I have held off buying some games because of this. Final fantasy would have been bought if I could transfer save data. Too bad.

I am waiting until the last minute with lets golf 2. Demo is great but broken achievements with no love from developer makes me hesitant. decisions...

^If you like golf games, I'd say buy it. It definitely plays well and it's not really very hard.

The one broken achievement, and then promise of an update that never came through is hard to forgive. But the game is really pretty good, I've sunk 6 hours into it already, according to Raptr.

There is also an achievement for maxing out your XP. On the leaderboard EastX's score is about double mine, and I noticed he doesn't have the achievement yet either. I don't know how long it takes, but it could easily take 20 hours or more to get that achievement anyway. So there's a very good chance that most people wouldn't 200/200 this game even if it were possible.

I may buy it then. I love hot shots golf, and sunk dozens of hours into it on my psp. This reminds me of it.

off topic:
Interesting the rumor that MS may be entering into the phone hardware market. I presume the surface sells well they will put a phone out too. Cannot wait for a surface.

^Good catch. That's the sequel, right? Shame it's not $0.99, but I will probably still buy. I liked the first one enough, despite the really weird difficulty scale.
woohoo, another $1 game.

this makes my 100th game. :p
Nice. I'm at 78, but I think a couple on my list aren't really games (Xbox Live Extras, UFC on Xbox Live, etc)
Looks like it may be geoDefense Swarm. 1.99.

It is the sequel, although they play completely differently. I personally prefer the sequel as making the paths involves more strategery. Just bought it last week, but had such a blast playing it I don't mind the immediate drop. Would've liked FF to be the DoTW, it's even in the DoTW spot on my Marketplace, but even though I know it is worth 7 dollars, it is so hard to pay that much for something on my phone.

Hmm, I suppose Defense Swarm could just be an unrelated price drop. (I am still hoping for FF as DOTW). Does anyone know what Defense Swarm cost before it became 1.99?

Dang it, I bought Swarm for full price a couple weeks ago, after I finished the first geoDefense. Oh, well. It was a lot of fun. Highly recommended.

So is anyone else having trouble turning the sound/music off in Extraction? The sliders almost never recognize my swipes and even when they do I can't get it to zero. Plus, the sliders seem to have no effect on the actual volume. Help?
Heads up, Little Acorns is at 99 cents right now.
Where you seeing that? $2.99 still on my phone and the store.

Hmmm must've been a mistake. Just got it though for that price. I guess I got lucky?

Not sure. I live just the next state over, so....
What is funny is they way I found out is I was playing the demo that I downloaded when it first came out and thought, yeah I could pay 3 dollars for this, so I hit buy full game and to my pleasant surprise it was .99. I was going to get two 3 dollar games and instead got Little Acorns and DoDonpachi.
Tentacles now on iOS.

I don't really have a big problem with MS doing things like this, but I really think it kind of shows they don't have a ton of confidence in WP sometimes.
I don't think it means that at all. If they didn't have confidence in WP, they wouldn't keep putting money into it. I think they just realize that they can't rely solely on their own platform to sell their games. Besides, Microsoft games on iOS don't unlock achievements, right? That still leaves a bit of incentive for a lot of people.
Lucky bastard. Also, how come you don't have to pay tax? I do.
That's just how some states are. Over here in California, we don't pay sales tax for any digital purchases.

No, they won't get achievements over on iOS. And in Utah, I don't pay tax on anything digital EXCEPT WP games for some reason...

I get taxed on WP purchases and anything I buy directly through MS or Sony. Even Amazon now charges tax on MS Points, so I usually have someone else buy points for me who won't have to pay tax. Sucks.

I just got acorns for .99 too. Sweet. Check again Tyler.

Also, it bothers me they put exclusives on ios. Especially with wp8 coming. Perhaps the thought is the title is like advertising wp and w8. If windows is mentioned in the description so people know it is a live title. Just a thought.

Just snagged Little Acorns for $0.99 as well. Thanks for the heads up :) Tyler you're the odd man out now LOL.........Seriously, I'm sure it'll show up for you soon. Just keep refreshing every minute on your phone ;)

Picked it up through my phone in the marketplace. CA user here

So weird that it's not updated on mine yet. I have seriously been checking every 20 minutes or so, still nothing.

I really hope it does drop, I never remember price drops updating so sporadically.
I'm still seeing $2.99 as well, but my phone always takes way longer than everyone elses to update, or so it seems.
You are not alone, my Samsung Focus updates price only once a day. The easiest fix is to shut the phone off completely and then turn back on and when you go to the Marketplace it will update with the correct price.

I tried this earlier with my Arrive but it didn't work. I'm not too worried about it, as long as the price drop eventually shows...

Finally updated on my end. Time to play some Little Acorns before going to bed! Nice to see a price drop so soon, but kind of rough on early buyers to drop the price less than 3 months after release.

I am regretting not checking out JunJun's tip after you guys said it wasn't 99 cents any more... Would've been my story. Oh well. :p

Also, I just completed Extraction! It's one buggy game - second only to Gun Bros and Contract Killer. But at least it's finishable.

I just noticed that the marketplace is kind of a mess. Went to see the Xbox Live games, ALL and notice they aren't in order like they usually are. Also, noticed they have a couple of games up. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire & Winning Eleven 2012....it says my phone is not compatible and what not though.

A couple of lengthy, kick-butt articles:

Extraction Achievement Guide

Behind the scenes of vaporware launch game Loondon

I keep saying this, but I started working on that Loondon article in April 2011, and only just now managed to finish it. That's because the devs gave me some info and then fell off the map, but I managed to track them down by doing a WHOIS on their now-defunct website and following a few other leads. It's the best investigative article I've written and I would really appreciate feedback from anyone who hasn't left it already.

Also, article on Carcasonne and Cracking Sands coming up.
