Their bread and butter is selling to businesses, they really don't care all that much about the money from the home users. They know that as long as most people use Windows at home, then thats what they'll use at work. Thats why they take it easy on people, they know that some people would use Linux or something else thats free instead of paying for Windows if they had to. Also, many people at work are too lazy to look up their company's product key when they're doing installs, they'll just find one on the internet and use that. They don't want to piss off those businesses too much.
This Genuine Advantage thing'll get a few people to pay, but otherwise its business as usual. The world's richest man can live without a few of you paying for your copy of Windows.
