I don't see why it hasn't made it to the Player's Choice list yet. Out of all the goofy games they slap with that title, WindWaker is by far more deserving than a great deal of them.

if you have a game and can sell it for $50, would you have any incentive to sell it for $30? no, and neither does Nintendo. as long as it sells well at $50 it will not be $30.

I'm aware of the simple idea of making profit. I suppose I should've phrased that a little differently. I'm unaware of the method used to add the games to the list. I was assuming that it was based on the amount of titles sold, not on the time the title has been on the shelves. The only reason I'm even remotely interested in this concept is because I've lost my copy of Wind Waker, and It'd be REAL nice to get a non-PC copy for $29 bucks when the price drop takes effect. If anyone knows what they base it on, enlighten me.

I used to be a million copies and 1 year in the N64 days. I dunno now. But at least one year I would think. They may drop the price when the sequel gets close to a release.

It's a combination of titles sold and time on the market that usually determines player's choice/greatest hits/platinum hitz... However, the fact that they are still making $50 a pop for them, well it speaks volumes...

In order to become a greatest hits for the PS2 it has to sell over 400,000 copies and it has to have been on the market for at least 9 months. I'm not sure how Nintendo or Microsoft does it, but i'm sure its similar but just with different numbrs.

It needs to be on the market for 9 months to be classified as a PH, regardless of sales for Microsoft.

Nintendo won't typically mark down a game to a player's choice till its been out for atleast year. And even then, the difference between the $20 and $30 is based on what year the title was released (With the exception of SSB:M).

My guess is Nintendo will announce another round of drops in May just before E3.

what im guessing is they'll probably drop the price tag soon. in order for it to be 9 months, its gotta be out till february something, and then maybe, just maybe they'll drop it down to like, 40 or something and make PC even higher. stupid, i know, but they're greedy money-sucking villains who want more money because they're losing in the PS2/Xbox/GC race, and WW is one thing they've got going for them well. I'm no hater of GC because i own one and WW myself, but i was surprised i had to pay so much because normally after the 8 months its been out, you'd think they'd at least drop the price down to 40. Same thing goes with Halo, though you can find it in numerous stores for around 20$.

what about halo? it still isn't a "platinum" hit[/quote]

Like Windwaker, it's a game they can still practically charge whatever they want for. It'll go Platinum before Halo 2, guaranteed.

Zelda:Wind Waker has been $50 for the longest time. I waited and waited and waited and waited for it to drop to at least 39.99 or 29.99, but no. Since I think I hell would of froze over before the price droped, I just bought it. It's been almost a year since the game was released I wish Ninteno would drop the damn price. :x

Probably the biggest reason its $50 is because its really one of the few titles people actually want for GC. Look at everyone's GC game collection, they all more or less contain the same ten games. GameCube has few, but very very solid games. I wouldn't expect Zelda: WW to go cheap until another system selling game takes it place (it should have been MK:DD, but oh well).

It's funny, I bought a gamecube for Mario Sunshine and Zelda: Windwaker. I have 30 games now but not those two. Thanks to cheapassgamer I can't spend more than $20 on a game without feeling ripped off.
