WipeOut HD & Release Dates

Just had a buddy of mine tell me that he has been playing with WipeOut HD for almost 3 weeks now (hes connected) .. when I asked him about a release date he unofficially told me before Xmas.

Of everything shown at E3 as an older gamer WipeOut HD was all I cared about.

I wonder why this date has not been announced, do PSN games get official release dates?

When I read the title I thought someone might have slipped a release date.

This is my last anticipated title of 07.

Had heard it would be out before the end of the year, but damn they're cutting it close.

I am eagerly anticipating this game. I hope it's as good as WipeOut 3 or even XL. Fusion sucked in my opinion and Pure is good but it's on the PSP, so it has it's limitations.

I believe Sony released a list a few weeks ago with the remaining PS3, PSN, PS2, and PSP games for the year and Wipeout HD wasn't on the list.

I wonder what they'll charge for it. Since the tracks are basically just a rehash of past WipeOut titles, but with updated HD graphics, I'm not sure this would be worth buying for more than $19.99. On the other hand, I'm a huge WipeOut fan...

I have not been following.

Is this downloadable only? Can I buy it at a store with a case in some form of physical media disc?

It's possible it'll get a bargain $40 retail release, similar to Warhawk, SOCOM Confrontation will likely get the same treatment.

There's no doubt that someone out there is working on a full fledged PS3 Wipeout game. Seems like Warhawk, Wipeout HD, and SOCOM Confrontation are more appetitizers to keep us both satisfied and anticipating the release of the full games a year or two from now.

What I'm wondering was, why weren't full versions of these games in development from the very beginning?

Yeah I doubt it'll be $40.

It's bascially Wipeout Pure and Wipeout Pulse bundled together with a few extra bells and whistles, upgraded to HD.
It should be $10. What it will be is anyone's guess.
Well, if games like High Velocity Bowling are $10, we can see how Sony's pricing structure works. Good games will have to be more than $10 (i.e. Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Warhawk, Oblivion expansion). If Wip3out HD actually comes out at $10, I might be worried a little.
