I saw a bunch of these at Fry's over the weekend. Wish they had one out to try. They actually had one of those "Shredder" guitars out for people to try. Worked alright, but the guitar felt even smaller than the standard SG did.

(review of the wireless guitar for anyone interested)

the strap peg problem sounds annoying, as does the possibly 50/50 tilt sensor.
damn, i like the gibson flying V look better than the SG
What you say?!?!?

SG all the way, dude

in real life i would agree with you...

well, in real life my PRS kicks all their arses, but thats beside the point. You shouldn't own a black SG in the first place.

Now, i would say the Red SG controller looks better than the red flying V

It looks to be made by the same 3rd party company that makes the "Shredder" guitar, about which I've heard nothing but bad things. It might make sense to hang back and see if this thing holds up after a few weeks of mashing the solo on Bark at the Moon at your friend's house.

mashing buttons just causes muscle tension, which inhibits the muscles groups required for fast solos...

translation : your friends stink

Hmmm the damn reps @ the company wouldn't comment on whether or not it works with guitar freaks. Has anyone tried it out?

yeah i played one at Circuit City the other day and its freakin sweet. except the whammy bar was kinda tight. you realy need a reliable strap to. but other than that it kicks ass. you should get one. i got mine for like 30 bucks. its gonna be sweet with guitar hero 2 i cant wait.

I bought one because my SG broke a while back. It works surprisingly well for a 3rd party controller. The fret buttons have more travel (they stick out more from the controller) BUT they are incredibly sensitive. You hardly need to apply any pressure to them. My whammy bar is only slightly tighter than the SG's, but I can still whammy as fast as I can with an SG.

My only complaints are that the strum-bar isn't 'clicky' like the SG's. Again, this is very sensitive though, so the slightest press on it strums the guitar. Also, because of the shape of the guitar, I had to change how I hold the guitar. The place where I used to rest my wrist on the SG is gone, so I just adjusted my grip.

Because all te the buttons are so sensitive, it's easier to do the fast solos without as much strain or effort. Overall, it took me about a half-hour to get used to the new controller and now I am able to play BETTER than I can with the SG.
