I have no idea the quality of the controller (though it looks nearly identical to the original GC one), but considering the price of Wavebird's, this looks like it may be a steal. Only legit review says it's a 4/5, so hopefully it is...

Works with Smash Bros and obviously any game that accepts a GC/Classic controller:

(please edit the link mods/cheapy, I don't know how to do so)

i got a double pack of these for ps2 for Christmas, they look sick when you power them on they have all blue LEDs, but the top of my analog nub snapped off, other than that they were ok. perhaps, it was just my abuse...

i picked up a matdcatz wireless gc controller way back when i first got my wii and its been perfect(much better than previous madcatz stuff i've had).. it was like 15 or 20 bucks at target, and i think they have a few colors available depending on the store(i got a transluscent purple bc it was all they had at the moment).. but whatever..

my friend also has the same exact controller branded as Gamestop, so you can obviously get them there also.

edit: this one > http://www.amazon.com/Gamecube-Micr..._1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1205781267&sr=1-1

..only difference is the wireless receiver has a short wire on mine(~1.5"), if you get one like in this picture, it might not work with the wii because of how the ports are positioned

The MadCatz are hit or miss. I bought two last year, same model with the wired (longer) receiver. One died within 2 months, and the other constantly "wanders" to the top.

*EDIT* The reviews for this are horrible. They're horrible for most of the 3rd party controllers out there. The Wavebird is worth every penny. There's a reason it's so well-loved. *EDIT*

Third party controllers in general don't hold up well in my experience. Given that no one's jumping up and recommending DreamGear really, I'd lean towards at least one of the more well-known 3rd parties. Honestly, Gamestop stocks the equivalent all the time at or around this price:

SAVER will get you free shipping, not sure if AFF25 will work or not, but there's generally a 15% accessories code out there as well.

I guess this is the only wireless one up right now - $19.99, free shipping with SAVER:

It works with the Wii and fits on top, it's just that it's a piece of crap. I bought one of the Gamestop branded ones, and a week later, the C-stick started pushing to the left by itself, and the analog stick sometimes pushes up by itself. It'll stop if I restart it or mash the sticks all the way around, but it only takes a few minutes for it to start back up.

Plus that has to be the absolute worst start button placement I've ever seen.

Actually the wired ones I had a much better time with, except my brother pulled the cords out of the controllers and destroyed them. It's a shame, I loved those because they're the perfect size for my hands.

Almost every GS carries used Wavebirds. Less than $25 with your edge card. Select a decent looking one, take it home and clean the shit out of it.

If it doesnt work, or clean up to your satisfaction, you can return it for a full cash/credit refund.

I skeeve used controllers just as much as you do. But a used Wavebird is better than a new pos third party controller.

No offense Puffa, but that's farrrrrr from the truth. I've been to about 5-6 GS/EBs in my area and haven't been able to find a single one, hence why I posted this link (and why they're going for $60 online).

I just received mine today, I'll try to post impressions asap.
