Wombat = Arnie Pie in the Sky?

This is really silly but after listening to the last few podcasts I can't help but shake the similarity in the voice between Wombat and Arnie Pie "in the sky" of The Simpsons who plays the traffic reporter. Anyone else find a similarity in the voice? I cannot comment on physical likeness.

This may have been brought up but I couldn't find anything in a quick search.

Listening to Wombat just makes me think of Arnie reporting "Traffic is backed up as far as this reporter can see" as his chopper is crashed in the middle of a bridge.

That YouTube video is awesome. The ones where he is all bitter with Kent crack me up.

In hindsight I guess the voices are not so similar. I still think there is some what a similarity when Wombat gets excited but this was all just silly to begin with.

I always picture Wombat as a young Burt Reynolds. He's the guy that got raped by a hillbilly in Deliverance, right?

Haha, I always pictured him as Andy Kindler as well. I'm surprised someone else actually knew of Andy.

I think he sounds more like Sol Rosenberg from The Jerky Boys. He's cemented that in my mind by using the term Jerky once or twice on the podcasts.
