Working on my best albums of 2010 list and I need some help

PuNK45S

CAGiversary!
So, I am currently working on a list of my favorite albums of 2010 that I post up at the end of every year (I stopped doing it for a few years and started up again last year, so I'm still trying to get back into it) and I would like some help from a larger community like this.

As you can imagine, it's hard to think back about all the albums released in any year, and 2010 has been a pretty good year. So to help me pad my list a bit (I currently have a list of about 65 albums that are contenders) I would appreciate it if some people could post up a small list of their favorites of the year so far. Or even just 1 or 2 albums would still be very helpful.

I know I am missing some (I always do) and I'm not limiting this by genre at all. I already have some metal, rock, punk, hip hop, country, folk, industrial, electronic, etc. So don't be afraid to say anything.

And a huge thank you to everyone that chooses to help me out.

This year for full releases weren't so good for me. I found myself listening to albums from late last year such as Kid Sister's Ultraviolent, Asking Alexandria's Stand Up and Scream, etc.

We are the In Crowd - Guarantee to Disagree EP
Ke$ha - Animal
B.O.B. - Adventures of Bobby Ray
You Me At Six - Hold Me Down

To above, I didn't like the Lil' Wayne album.

The Black Keys- Brothers
Gorillaz- Plastic Beach
Big Boi- Sir Lucious Left Foot
B.O.B. - Adventures of Bobby Ray

Iron Maiden - Final Frontier

First to come to mind. I know it's been a pretty solid year all around on the metal front. One I have my eye on from a band I just discovered is "legends" by Crystal Viper. Comes out later in the month.

Hayaino Daisuki - Invincible Gate Mind of the Infernal Fire Hell

It's an EP, but it's still the best metal album released all year, hands down. Also:

Swans - My Father Will Guide Me Up A Rope To The Sky
Melvins - The Bride Screamed Murder
Bastard Noise - A Culture of Monsters
Hooded Menace - Never Cross The Dead

I've probably listened to these two albums the most this year

Coheed and Cambria - Year of the Black Rainbow
Circa Survive - Blue Sky Noise

My top 3 for the year, so far.

Pendulum - Immersion

My own personal top ten in no order:

Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest
Yeasayer - Odd Blood
Big Boi - Sir Luscious Left Foot: Son of Chico Dusty
The National - High Violet
Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma (seriously this right here is the SHIT; NOT for the faint of heart)
Avey Tare - Down There
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs (of course)
Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
Spoon - Transference
High On Fire - Snakes for the Divine

Great year for indie music but kind of a crappy year for metal/hip-hop... JUST MY OPINION of course. ;)

My favorites, in order (best first).

Taylor Swift - Speak Now
Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
Miranda Cosgrove - Sparks Fly
Ke$ha - Animal
Selena Gomez & the Scene - A Year Without Rain

I hate always agreeing with you, but... This guy is correct.

I'll also add The Daughters - The Daughters. I know some people really didn't enjoy how they completely revamped the sound, including a few members of the band, but it's just so epic and heavy. I can just imagine how loud of a show dedicated to that album would be...

I love Forget Me.

Jonsi- Go
Sufjan Stevens- Age of Adz
Arcade Fire- The Suburbs

Can you count the John Lennon Signature Box that came out recently as one album? :)

High On Fire - Snakes For The Divine
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Option Paralysis
Deftones - Diamond Eyes
Black Tusk - Taste The Sin
Rob Zombie - Hellbilly Deluxe 2
Uffie - Sex Dreams And Denim Dreams

And next week's release that will most likely be awesome: Squarepusher - Shobaleader One

From someone who primarily follows the metal and hip hop scenes:

  1. Nas & Damian Marley - "Distant Relatives"
  2. Triptykon - "Eparistera Daimones"
  3. Shad - "TSOL"
  4. Autopsy - "The Tomb Within" EP
  5. Rick Ross - "Teflon Don"
  6. Bun B - "Trill O.G.".
  7. Yelawolf - "Trunk Muzik" Mixtape
  8. Armin van Buuren - "Mirage"
  9. Grave - "Liberation"
  10. Above & Beyond - "Anjunbeats 8"
Lots of very good albums, but these are the ones I thought really stood out.

Me too surprisingly!

I can't really think of anything else I've listened to that came out this year that's as good. Well, besides Deftones - Diamond Eyes

No particular order after the first:

Janelle Monáe - The ArchAndroid
Tired Pony - The Place We Ran From
Sara Bareilles - Kaleidoscope Heart
The Letter Black - Hanging On by a Thread
Anberlin - Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place
