Hello, I was just wondering if it is worth getting XBOX Live. I have my PS2 online but there are no good games to play. So i was thinking of getting the XBOX Live starter kit with Crimson Skies for 55.00 and Splinter Cell PT. How do you setup a game with other people. For PS2 i had a keyboard I would use to talk to people, but how is it on Live, do you just use the communicator the whole time. Please help me out because I plan to get it tonight. Thanks for everyones help and opinons.

Yes, all communication is done with the headset. Setting up custom games is quick and easy. And Live is great. Go for it.

I haven't noticed any cheating in the few months I've been on Live. Definitely not cheating on the order of SOCOM, and it is disheartening to hear that SOCOM 2 has finally been hacked as well. I'll be sticking exclusively to Live for a good while, despite the fact that Live generally has more lag then I was used to when playing SOCOM.

You do realize that you just bumped this after 10 minutes, right?

Yes, on some games you can glitch. But like I always say, glitches are for bitches.

Yea when I was playing XIII live I was amazed how a certain person manage to kill my character with one and only one shot. And I would lay into him with a machine gun and it didn't do anything. He was getting like 30 to 40 frags in a 10 minute game without being killed once if I'm correct.

Haha, that only angered me and I spent an hour or so determined to defeat him at least once.

And I did.

Once or twice.

Yes, I am the champion :D

Either the guy was cheating or he didn't have a job or go to school and played the game all day.

It is a shame people cheat online. Takes all the fun out of it. And for what? Its not like he's getting a gold metal or something.

In response to what you asked....get it. But when a new live game comes out that you want, I suggest pick it up right away and play online so no one finds a way to cheat right off the bat.

I just got Live for Crimson Skies and Pandora this last week myself and its been absolutely worth it and will only become more worth it as more games come out for Live- speaking of Halo2, Splinter Cell3, and Mechassault2.

Get that starter kit and meet us online. There are some cheaters but thats to be expected- youll find good people as well, friend them and they wont cheat you- if they do- drop em. Its pretty simple.

I did go out and buy the Year Live kit and I also bought SPlinter Cell PT. I'll post my ID tomorrow because the Cowboys are on tonight and I dont have any time lol.

Ok got my Live hooked up and my ID is:

I will be playing:
Splinter Cell PT
Rainbow 6:3

So hit me up for a friend invite and i'll be down to game.

Definately worth getting. Its Xbox's biggest feature.

Games people cheat in:

Rainbow Six 3 - Action Replay saves
MechAssault - 3rd party controllers make you fly insanely fast. Then there are tons of glitches, but its so commonly used that their one of the main parts of the gameplay. (Wall walking, no dust at feet for cloaked mechs, Pink Button, I'm sure theres more I'm forgetting)

Question: How do you add friends to your list? Do you have to play them first to add them or is there a way just to "type" their gamertags into your friends list?

Sorry for the newbie question, but XBL is all new to me!

Yeah, go into your Xbox dashboard, and there should be a friend's button. Click on that and follow directions. It's quick and easy.

That is what I would really like to know. I have heard good things about X-Box live but I still have not purchased it. I guess what I want to know is from the people that have it is what makes you keep going back to it?

^^^The people that I have met. I have known 1 person for over 3 months over XBL and play games with him all the time. He's around my age and we like the same games. It's really nice.

Well thanks for the reply. I never looked at it that way. I figure if I get X-Box live I can probably do the same thing. All I really play is the sports games anyway.

Thank you for your help. :)

Its the only way to experience some games to their fullest- and you get that much more value out of them.
I've also met some cool guys (and girls) and very few jerks despite what I'd heard. I play with my friends that went on to different colleges across the country and its like the goldeneye days.
I feel bad i waited so long to get in on it. With Halo2, Kingdom Under Fire, Mechassault2 and Splintercell3 theres just no excuse for not having live.
