I'm talking about the Limited Edition (which is $39.99) which you can preorder at EB or Gamestop. Does anyone here think it will really be "limited" as in you won't be able to find it new at retail price later? Preorders also come with a MGS Saga bonus disk, which seems like a pretty decent little package but I don't know if it is worth paying full price for a game, which I haven't done in a loooong time. The Limited Edition comes with a third disk, which is why this is the version that I am most interested in although the actual game will be the same in the regular version.

It's a moot point, you can't preorder the LE anymore., and apparently EB / GS will only get in enough to fill preorders.

And yea, the LE will probably be worth something since its so far pretty limited, and people will pay out the ass for a stupid movie dvd they will probably never watch.

The Gamestop by me is still taking preorders for the LE, but like you said probably not for long. That's why I'm trying to decide today if I want this or not.

They shouldn't be... they should have locked out preorders a long time ago. I tried at around 4 different Gamestops and a few EB's, calling them and asking... I almost ALWAYS got told "Yea, you can preorder it, come on in!" until I asked them to do a double check, at which point they told me "Wow, thats strange... looks like you can only get the regular one now". One Gamestop I even went to, they were so positive that I could preorder it, only to find out they couldn't.

If you can preorder the LE by some strange miracle, then do it, it will probably be worth some cash in the future.

This is just assuming that Best Buy / Circuit City / other retailers don't get the LE, but so far all signs point to no.

I don't know if its in their computer to preorder it or not, but I just called an EB near my school and the guy said that they will be taking preorders for both editions "probably until the night before they get it, which would be Monday." I asked him if it would be hard to find the LE and he told me that it probably wouldn't be since he was the only person who had preordered one at their store. Of course this store is definitely not indicative of others since it is hidden in the corner of a large plaza and I haven't seen other customers there yet in my couple visits. I think I'm just going to go in Sunday afternoon and preorder since the guy said it will be fine.

To preorder now I think you'd have to go into a store, and even then its gonna be on a store by store basis.

I already preordered cos I want the bonus disc for its collectability. They guys at the GS I preordered from know I want this disc so I should be okay.

Not sure if there will be any copies of the LE beyond those that were preordered, but I imagine there would be some. But i wouldnt sleep on this if you really want one, cos I dont think these will be available 6 months down the road, and you know used copies are not gonna come with all the discs.

And this is what they all told me too... alot of the employees are clueless and they DO think it can be preordered still, at anytime. I guranatee that if he actually looked up the LE, he wouldn't be able to preorder it at all. I mean, I went to a store a few days ago where the employee was so positive he could do it, that when he tried to make a preorder he had no way to do it.

The fact that the LE was pulled off the website a full month before the game was to hit is a sure sign that it probably won't be easy to come by.

Or Konami is playing games (sorry about the pun) in order to boost LE sales. I'm not entirely convinced it will be that limited when they realize that there's such a demand for it. Then again we are talking about the same company that made MGS 2 Substance for PS2 so limited and the most infamous example of them just sitting on Suikoden 2 not doing a reprint.

MSG2 Substance PS2 couldnt sold even at $20 brand new. Must people proably dont remember but at one point major sites like eb and gs website has MSG2S for $20 brand new in stock. It after it is gone the price really went up

I called our local EBGames on this issue just the other day. I got the manager, who is always quite knowledgable, and he said they're still taking pre-orders for the LE, however, it's no guarantee that I'll get one. But at this point (Monday) corporate hasn't told them not to. He even said he's heard the same thing that I've probably been reading on the Internet that it's going to be hard to come by. I didn't even tell him I've been reading about that, but he was on top of it.

All of the registers at EB will have the same release date list. The LE has been removed from this list and everyone received an email saying that no more preorders are to be taken for this title (you can still preorder the normal one). The problem is that people rarely read the emails and if the manager does read the email, then he might forget to tel everyone else this. The only way that they may preorder one for you now is if you preorder under the normal sku and they may put a note on it saying to place aside the LE if the store gets in any extras or if someone cancels.

If you go into the store and ask to preorder, they shouldn't be able to do it.

Exactly. A friend of mine is the manager at a local GS, and he didn't even know it wasn't available for pre-order anymore until he tried. He did offer to do the whole "order the regular, note the receipt, then if we have any extras we'll give you one and charge you the extra $10" deal.

[quote name='russianguns']Like many who didn't pre-order the Limited Edition version, would anyone be as so kind to clear up any confusion between the regular version of Subsistence and the Limited Edition?
As far as I know the regular version has TWO DISCS and the Limited Edition version comes with the extra MGS SAGA VOL. 1 disc (making it THREE DISCS), I believe, which has all the cut scenes edited together.
I would just like as much info differentiating the two so I know I'm getting the right one (Limited Edition) when I attempt to find one.
Also on GameStop they have what appears to be the regular version but it comes with the free bonus disc:
http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product_id=B281391A#ship
Would that be considered the same thing as what the LE has to offer?
Thanks guys.

The preorder bonus disk is completely independant and offered on both versions.

The extra disc on the LE is called Existence I think, and its what you described.

The LE also has a red cover.

correct 4 disc... for LE... including bonus disc...

I try preordering a copy 2 weeks ago from eb w/ no luck... hopfully they will get some extras..

The main diffrence between the two versions are: the LE comes with a 3rd disk that has the cutscenes edited together to make a movie, And like someone else said the LE has a red cover.
