Worth it to trade PS3 slim for ultra slim?

Got a PS3 slim (CECH-2100) that I really only use as a media player. Is it worth it to get a super slim?

FWIW I pretty much never play disc based games or use the drive so the noise/rattling isn't an issue. Is the power consumption reduced enough to make it worthwhile?

Well then that settles it. I can't find a power consumption comparison but what I'm really after is lower electricity usage.

No, it's fugly as hell, and you're surely better off with the original slim.

The new one does in fact drain less power. And the people who say it's ugly have (more than likely) never seen it. I've seen that floated around a lot.

I'm guessing Gamestop will probably have the bundle on Black Friday for $200. If you take advantage of hardware trade in bonuses, you could very easily only pay $100 or less out of pocket for this and get the Infamous Collection and Uncharted Dual Packs. Still not a great deal as the power difference probably doesn't justify the expenditure for most people, but if you really want the new thing, this is the best way to go about it.

Just make sure you deactivate your accounts & delete them manually before you trade in if you do this so you don't lose activations on your PSN account.

I agree. The power drain difference isn't that much different, maybe 10%? And it won't really justify the purchase of the super slim. Enjoy what you have and you can use that $100 for something else.

If you have seen videos on the plastic compartment covering the game disk section on the super slim you'll be glad that you have a regular slim rather than the super slim. Looks extremely cheap and flimsy.

But weren't people also complaining about the Slim's disc drive and even that was cheap and flimsy. Either way you're screwed if it happens.
