Would an ignorant man-child dress up his 4-year old son as Optimus Prime, OTT?

Hmm, some of the medley songs have different dreamscapes when played as individual songs. I noticed it with YNGMYM but didn't know if it was just for that one.
Japanese titles which are developed within the safe and stuffy confines of what it is to be a Japanese title.
So since this is basically DMC4 with slightly different combat engine/mechanics and a witch chick instead of a devil hunter/demon boy, was DMC4 a traditional Japanese title?

I'm not trying to be a dick -- I'm just trying to figure out what else would fit your definition. When I think "Japanese title" I think of JRPGs... (and fucked up niche games, like Katamari, Mr. Mosquito, and then all the games they love over there that are never brought over here) -- the DMC4-esque Bayonetta didn't draw a parallel to *my* thooughs on what a "traditional Japanese title" is... though I may just not be seeing what you're seeing.

I'm with Stone.

Hell, I'm tempted to get rid of my 60gb fat for a 120gb slim like seanR did, but I'd probably lose so much gameshare shit that I don't know it's worth it. :|

I thought you had a PS3 83. Why are you looking at a new one?

For the family room. I was in my office watching Gladiator on Blu-Ray and she said why doesn't the picture look that nice in the living room? So she said I can get a Blu-Ray player to replace the aging DVD player in there.

The last 3 minutes of "Dogs" is probably the best thing Pink Floyd has ever done.
Is it any good? The player, I mean. My brother might want to get in on that.

That is kind of tempting, if it's any good.
cNet rates it 'Good'. But it's not the "3" FWIW.

The good: Relatively inexpensive for a Blu-ray player; can output Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio in bit stream format; excellent video quality in 1080p/24 mode; Profile 1.1 compliant; solid DVD video performance.
The bad: No onboard decoding for multichannel Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio; subpar image quality on Blu-ray Discs in standard 1080p mode; lacks Profile 2.0 support; no Ethernet jack for firmware upgrades; pedestrian design.

The bottom line: The Insignia NS-BRDVD is competent as a relatively cheap, barebones Blu-ray player, but better players are coming and the Sony PlayStation 3 is a superior option for those with just a little more cash.

 @ being a retard and not knowing the definition of pedestrian.

Nickelodeon now owns the rights to TMNT...not sure that's a good thing. How soon till we see TMNT make a guest appearance on SpongeBob Squarepants?

Allow me to be retarded for a moment...Does the PS3 output to 1080p/24? The TV in my office is only 1080i, so I never noticed a setting for it on the PS3. Is it an option on the PS3 only if it detects 1080p TV's?

Generally speaking, DMC4 was like DMC3 was like DMC2 was like DMC.

Japanese developers simply

My PS3 is connected to my 42" LCD via HDMI and runs at 1080p.

Then what is this 1080p/24 mode? Is that different than just 1080p?

To the AVI Fourms!

Films are recorded at 24 frames per second while TV is 30 fps

It only matters if your TV has a 24p mode anyway, which an older 1080i model most certainly will not.

Sorry, I can't read this morning -- staring at these fucking PDFs for too long -- I thought you saw an option in the PS3 that you couldn't use because you only had a 1080i LCD.
And some games won't run at 1080i if your TV doesn't have 720p. That is really retarded. Blu Rays will be fine.
Blu-rays are weird -- I remember when I first had my PS3 set up, it used the component cables I got from Trashkan... and even though my LCD supports 1080p through component, the blu-rays refused to run at 1080p. :bomb:

I didn't see an option for 1080p/24...which is why I asked if the ps3 detected these types of settings. I have everything set to automatic anyway, but reading the manula Manthing linked I guess it's moot. And since it's 1080i it doesnt matter anyway. I also think the TV in the family room is 1080i too...

Doesn't HDCP not work with component connections?

Neat.

It's AACS that doesn't allow 1080p over component. And every :hd: and :br: is AACS compliant
