There's this girl that I know that I've had a crush on for about 10 years. Like many of you guys might know, I have some issues with anxiety and stuff. Anyway, she recently broke up with her boyfriend. We talk every once in a while, so it's not like this is way out there. Anyway, I write this long letter about my true feelings....and just now tried to talk to her on AIM:

Me: hey
Her: hold on.....................
Her signed off at 8:45:18 PM.

Yep, life is weird.
 
Maybe (just maybe) she doesn't walk to talk about your long letter about true feelings on AIM of all things? Call her on the phone at least, or take her to get a drink...

have you ever actually talked to her? as-in face to face more than just hi? If you havent... you cant really have any true feelings... You have to be weary of crushes... they can make you think you feel more than is reasonable...

Notes that profess undying love seem like youre unstable if you dont actually talk to that person regularly...

I talk to her probably a couple times a week and she was over at my house like a month or so ago playing wario ware with me.

harsh, the important thing is to over analyze what happened, thinking about it and nothing else for the next 2-4 hours. If you can also lose sleep and/or sleep uneasily as well as lament both visibly and often then you might just make it through this.
additionally, and i cannot stress this enough, rent swingers or if you own swingers, go watch the scene where bobby calls up a girl about half a dozen times. Reflect on his decision and try to apply to your own life whatever lesson you take from the scene.

If all this STILL fails, post the letter you originally wrote. I am sure the sympathetic forum members here will generous provide an outflow of courtesy, relationship wisdom and advice on correcting grammar mistakes or shoring up sentence structure.

Hmmm...that's probably what the OP meant and the scene I was thinking of. I haven't seen either movie in ages, but that answering machine scene was hysterical, regardless of which Jon Favreau movie it was in. ;)

I've been dealing with a similar circumstance for about 5 years. I recently decided that waiting around for the girl in my head was not worth it anymore, even though we will soon be going to the same college. Several strange things have gone on that have seemingly drawn me to her, but it's never resulted in anything. How long can a person keep another on their mind before it drives them completely insane?

They've been friends for ten years. Now, it's not uncommon at all for long time buddies to converse a few days a week and talk on AIM. He's stalking her? Give me a break.

The Golden Globes is usually fun to watch. It's such a minor awards show that even the presenters drink through the entire show. It's usually good for a little unintentional comedy.
 
You did it wrong anyway. Don't still you guts out like a little sissy. Offer to take out "as a friend". Then say how you had a really great time and such. Do it a couple more times and try and make warm up to you. Then slowly she'll get the message.

Mainly, she meant give her time to figure out her response.

Personally, I think you are toast . . . in my experience things either fall into place or they don't.

Seriously, you should have worked up to it. Not a heartfelt letter right after they break up. Take it slow.
