Looks really good, but if it's not on-line I won't be picking it up. My friends and I had a ball with FF: CC for about 20 hours or so, but we were never able to finish it because it became too hard to get people together to carry it over the finish line. On-line play would certainly make it more accessible. Gotta have voice chat, too.

Ladies and gentlemen, the OP has given us proof that the games on the Wii don't have to look so disgusting.

If it's a single player affair, I'm picking it up. It looks like they used the FFXII graphics engine, except cleaned up.

Holy shit! This game is gorgeous! I'm excited for this game now, and I'm a fan of neither Final Fantasy or pirates. It looks like a nice blend of real-time action and RPG-style storytelling, with some great graphics to boot.
Don't forget that its possible that it might be worthwhile single player as well.
As long as that stupid ass mog doesn't get tired every 5 feet, then it very well could be. I hate that thing.

You can tell from that tiny trailer that they have clearly put much more effort into this game than the original. I thought the one for gamecube was halfassed

Looks nice. Now I'm kindof curious what this game will exactly be about and if it will allow local/online multiplayer/co-op at all.

Well, say what you want about the gameplay of the first one, but it was a nice looking game. I don't know that I'd assume you'd like this one from the trailer if you didn't like the first.

Ok where is the minigames, lol. No seriously this game looks good but I learned to never trust Square games based on graphics alone, lol. If this has good singleplayer I might pick it up, otherwise bleh.

"Holy crap!"

That's exactly what I said once the trailer ended. This game looks like its going to be pretty damn awesome.

The trailer was so short though. I want more... T_T

Did that game actually have an ending? I beat the shit like 5 times and it kept repeating. If it does eventually end, I would try to finish it again.

A lot of that looked like CG but the real time stuff was amazing! Now lets hope that it's actually fun to play, both single player AND with friends.

I mean, the last one looked great too but ultimately it was tedious to really enjoy (getting at least 2 other friends with GBAs and link cables) and the story was just a lot of loop holes, random bits of story, and a nonexistent plot.

I actually kind of liked CC as a FFish diablo style game. It was fun, for what it was. People criticized it for not being a traditional FF.

Looks alot different than CC (which I actually DID like a lot...singeplayer even)..graphics look like gamecube to me, and I actually like the CC graphics more (they seem more detailed and the characters look sharper to me...). The one millisecond I saw of that guy running seemed cool though :p
I'm hearing that this doesnt have any multiplayer period. Its an action/adventure type thing, like Zelda. Single player only.
That would be fucking awesome. This is what I want from the wii. :D

Wow that exceeded my expectations already. I get a sense of Kingdom Hearts from the trailer. The menus in the first FF:CC were very similar to the ones in KH too.

The burning question is.. will this also include a collection of minigames utilizing the Wii Remote?!

I wasn't super excited about this game before now, but after viewing the trailer I am. The graphics look great, the game gives me a Skies of Arcadia vibe, and the gameplay looks like it's either Kingdom Hearts style or Zelda style, both of which I like more then turn based. I hope Square Enix shows off more of this game at E3.

No. The developers stated that they want singleplayer to be a huge focus. They didn't comment on the multiplayer side of the game.

Anything with sky pirates is absolute gold to me, but even without that, that trailer is fantastic.

Wow. There was what? 10 seconds of ACTUAL gameplay? Color me - meh not so impressed. Whats all the fuss about? Some gussied up CGI? I was expecting to be blown away, but was not . Zzzzzzz.

Isn't the entire trailer in real-time graphics based off the engine? That would be some crappy CGI if really is nothing more than FMV.

I thought the beginning airship scene might have been CGI but nabbing a screenshot of it shows the mountains are composed of polygons so I thought it was real-time?
All this Skies of Arcadia talk I've been hearing with regards to this game has actually been getting me a little excited. I'm just going to have to pretend the GC version never existed.
you and me both buddy

fuck if I know! :) My friends all gave up after the umpteenth "cycle" where you had to go back to the different areas to collect that myrrh or whatever, each time with progressively harder enemies.

We didn't have more than about five minutes of sober game time, so stuff like with the traveling poet and the build up to the desert area crushed us the first time through. Then when they started with the "are we there yet?" whining, I looked further ahead on gamefaqs and realized that we kinda shoulda been paying attention more to the story line for a critical moment in the game. Everyone was unanimous in their "fuck that" sentiment and we moved on to LoZ Four Swords.

It was fun while it lasted, though. :)
