Ok well I went over my friends house, and when I get back my mom claims she found some "bad sites" that I had been on. Then she says crap like "oh I know how boys get curious, so I just put a parental control program on". Well I hadn't been looking at porn, so I was like "uhh what sites?" and she says like "like dildo sites". I said "and which site is that?" and she replied with "newgrounds.com". Yeah exactly. Also accourding to some dumbass search program she used to see if i was looking at porn, albinoblacksheep.com has "lesbian content". I was like alright whatever, i can't goto newgrounds till i found out howto get rid of the stupid program. The next day I start up my comp and it gets some "modifed files" error, on the stupid parental control program my mom decided to install. Long story short, it controls my damn internet, it got effed up, and now my internet doesn't work. Nor can I get the damn thing to uninstall, deleting the files didn't do shit either.



Now my mom has been trying to fix my damn comp for about 3 hours, great work mom. She doesn't know how to fix it, but I don't wanna try and fix it because I want her to relise she did a dumbass thing by installing garbage on my computer. I'm putting a password on my computer as soon as possible, and I suggest you do the same. Whether you are looking at porn or not, your parents probably think you are.
 
heh that sucks man, thank god my parents are computer illerate and dont use it. you can try to reformat but what a pain.
 
What program is it? Google it, and see if you can find a site the gives details on how to manually uninstall it. Learn how to use regedit!
 
I think I would be more disturbed if my son were looking up information on dildos than if he were searching for regular straight porn.
 
i already have a password on my login name.. and everytime i leave the room (even for a just a minute or two) i take windows to the switch user names screen.. a small price to pay to ensure my computer never gets web filter software on it...
 
If I had kids, and they tried to password protect thier PCs from me, we'd have issues. Of course, I'd have thier machines set up with an admin account that only I'd be able to access, so that'd greatly cut down on the affectiveness of trying to hide things via passwords.

Its a trust issue. Don't give parents a reason to believe you're going behind my back to do something, and they won't have issues.

yeah but you arn't my parents.. i run them, not only do they barely know how to run a computer, they could never figure out the password.. and for that, id have to let them in my room long enough to get ON my computer.. not a chance in hell thats happening.. they have theirs, i have mine, its in my room.. theirs is in there room, i dont get on theirs, they DONT get on mine

Well if you paid for the computer and are paying for rent, utilities, and internet then by all means, do as you wish. If not, then they can do whatever they want to you and your computer. :wink:
 
In a way, I can't really fault your mom. There really is some fucked up shit on the internet like beastiality and turd eating and other undescribable sick shit.

If I had a kid, I wouldn't want him or her to see that shit either.

Just shove in Knoppix on a CD and boom. No need for passworded accounts.
 
Electrocute the keyboard next time. Last ditch attempt is a system restore though, but my parents can't even turn on my computer so I LAUGH AT YOU!! :twisted:
 
Whew, it's a good thing my parents know something about computers. Enough to know that they shouldn't install crappy programs and whatnot; I've never had to clean up after them.
 
my parents don't know anything about computers. i am always having to fix theirs and my other family member's computers because they are always screwing them up. i suggest downloading a program called HijackThis. that is an awesome program. whenever i get spyware or other stuff on my computer,i just open up HijackThis and i delete it really quick. it doesn't always get rid of the stuff completely,so you may have to go to regedit and delete it manually.

My parents weren't a big issue with the porn thing, i never got caught, they didn't know jack about computers..it was my little brother! man was he a pain. this was when i was 14... middle school, low self-esteem, zelda 24/7, etc.

when my lil bro got caught he went off saying " its for school mommy"
