Wow people really want the box, huh?

All I can figure its that it's because it has the map and dust cover as well.... Most of the 20-30 copies might have instructions if you're lucky.

I need to buy this, but $100 is way over my range.

I got a complete copy last year for around 40. I don't know why the price increased so much.

I just think its funny that these games originally cost $50 and if you have them in mint condition for 10 years they double in value for a few lucky ones while the rest take a steep dive, but I suppose its a fun way of investing.

this is relly cool cause when my dad bought my snes (used) it came with ff3 and the box and every thing (i still have it) he didnt even pay this much for it.

One of my bigger regrets . . . I had this complete . . . sold it for $45.

I got it used after trading in three other games.

I sold it before ebay emerged
ironically the seller's name is
"games-4-cheap"
The guy/gal who won it should have been named, "I-bid-high"

I traded in my cart several years back, but kept the box/instructions/inserts. All are completely mint--I may have to find a nice cart to re-complete the set.

A sealed FF3 went for over $500 recently on ebay.

I just bought a copy of FF3 today off EB with FF1 (couldn't find anything better for BOGO) for $32.

Nintendo.com sells instructions, I ordered some for FF2 before I knew I could get FF3. All I need is a box.
$100? This is why I play all these classic games on emulators. :)
Yeah, because console games work fucking great on keyboards.

Its called being crazy. Why not just put your money in a cd for 10 years at the bank, you'll make more money and dont have to worry about messing the game up.(btw i know you dont do it just saying)

The key to why it went for so much is mint condition. Which means perfect condition no dings or bent corners on manual etc. Most copies that are around are fair to good condition.A mint condition copy is easily worth $100.00. I've seen sealed copies go for $ 200.00 on ebay 2 years ago. Also remember this game cost $ 69.99 back in 1992.And it is a great game. It is a great investment. Collecting is very big right now. If you go to digital press (http://www.digitpress.com/index2.htm) they have pictures of collectors game rooms. It will blow you away.
kinda hopin this was a pussy talk thread....
Jon Favreau was on Conan O'Brien once and said, "I like to play in the box my baby came in"

Yeah, because console games work shaq-fuing great on keyboards.
..they do make controllers for PC, you know.

I bought the cart only with dust sleeve, in mint condition, from the local pawn shop for $4! Too bad I don't have the box/manual, etc. Personally, I don't care too much about this game. It is overrated, IMO.

Or you could get the PSX versions of the NES/SNES Final Fantasy games.

I really didn't know "complete" games were worth so much. I had saved all my boxes and everything for like 10-15 years, and then I threw them all away to save space when I moved to TX a few years ago. At least I have all the instructions.

Same for me, I saved all my Genesis boxes, though, but I threw out like all my SNES boxes. :(
