was just messin around on the net and wanted to see the cover of the collectors edition for halo 3 and this came up.....

WTFHALO3.jpg

note the green checkmark beside the hamilton and stoney creek text...that means its available ....... if the item isnt out yet its always a red icon. i dont know if they'd be stupid enough to break street date but like i said the icon is always red if they arent selling it yet.

should buy for store pick up see if they fill the order

EDIT:
shows in stock at my store too lol. Im going to order it :D

EDIT: doesnt let you order for pick-up lol oh well I tried

This happens all the time. The green icon just indicates that they have stock in the store. That is, that it is in the back or has arrived and been scanned into the inventory. They usually show having stock of stuff before release dates....I see this with dvd's all the time.

DO NOT go for it. It happened to my boyfriend: He paid for overnight shipping because newegg had the 'in stock' icon, as well. He received a tracking number and everything. He was supposed to get it on the 20th. Didn't happen. He called and asked customer service for assistance and they said it was a mistake; they weren't supposed release the game until Tuesday, the 25th of September, 2007!

Basically what this means (probably) is they've got their stash of the games delivered and sitting in a back room. It shows up in stock cause they entered it into the computer as arrived at the store.

This happened at my store in the POS when we got the new laptops with vista a week b4 we were officially allowed to sell them.

Sorry OT, but I was in EB Games last Tuesday when the Puraltor Truck was delivering their a regular shipment and overheard the employee ask who was going to do the delivery next weeks 3 skids worth of "special shipment" (Halo 3). I couldn't believe it 3 Skids of Halo 3 for one store!
