since my 3g contract is running out, I would really like to hear about a Verizon phone this fall or just some date, then I have a reason to wait and switch carriers before getting this new phone.
720p video recording + upgraded camera app that links to vimeo & youtube would be very nice.
todays conference will pretty much determine if i stick with the iphone/att for another two years or if i move on and pick up an android phone with another carrier.
Very doubtful they drop the prices. Usually they keep prices the same, but they just bump up the specs of their devices.
They'll almost have to drop the off-contract price of the iPhone.
It would be ridiculous for the lowest spec iPhone to be $30 less than the 16GB 3G iPad.
imovie for 720p video edits? wonder how easy that would to use. editing on a pc seems like it would be quicker..maybe for a quick crop before an upload it can come in handy.

I wish, but sadly 4 days ago on Beet.TV a Verizon spokesperson said the following "John Johnson told Beet.TV that the carrier has no plans for supporting Apple’s devices “in the immediate future” and then segues quickly into pushing their Android phones."
I've pretty much given up hope of Verizon ever getting this thing... and honestly, it boggles my mind. They say they have a 28% market share... with Verizon they could easily have 70%.
But I don't see it happening... AT&Terrible wouldn't cap the data plans if they thought there was any chance of losing the phone exclusivity.
with my 3g phone 4-5 inches from my face i dont see any text blurring, guess ill have to go to the store and see it side by side this "amazing screen". The colors and black levels looked better dunno about that blurry text image they were showing.
Honestly, I'm just waiting for iPhone 4.0 OS to come out, Until now i've had to jailbreak my iPod in order to multitask(should have been included in the first place). Hopefully 4.0 will be a massive improvement but i doubt the APP Store requirements will change at all.

really? i definitely can notice jaggies, especially on lower case letters. its just not troublesome at all.
doesn't at&t lose exclusive rights w/ the iphone/ipad at end of 2010...wonder if thats why they are allowing up to 6months ahead for an upgrade.
@RAMSTORIA i notice the problem from ~ 5inchs from my 1680x1080 lcd computer screen. iphone i dont, u must have some superman vision or something because those picture of the blurry ass letter 'a' doesn't exist imo.
edit - screen protector made it look better. without it i can notice a difference. ugh 2 years w/ at&t or wait 6months.
Verizon uses CDMA tech and the iPhone is GSM all over the world.

Verizon (and Sprint) have SIM cards that you can put in phones to use them globally. Don't know if they'll work in the US, though.
no idea, all I know is I know someone who has it and Verizon is their carrier and they bought it from another country.
Might want to check your facts, thats not physically possible....

You might want to check yours. It is. The whole point of Verizon and Sprint issuing SIM cards is so their customers can roam on GSM networks internationally. There's nothing stopping someone from purchasing an unlocked iPhone and using it with Verizon abroad.

It. won't. work.

Those 'world' phones have the SIM cards because the whole rest of the planet uses GSM. Those SIM cards don't work in the U.S. at all.
Not really anything that compelling for me to upgrade my 3G. I am actually leaning more towards an EVO. The only advantage is that it's so easy to sync my music and podcasts with itunes and I really don't want to have to carry an iPod touch for my music and games. The 720P video recording is nice but with no 64GB model it seems a little pointless since I have about 25GB of music, usually have between 1-2 GB of podcasts, 2-3 GB of audio books and a bunch of apps.
well i was really hoping for a 64gb model. nothing else announced today is surprising.
Same. Anyone know how much space a 3 minute HD video would take up? It seems with the new camera you'd need to keep several gigs free at all times which sucks when they only give you 32GB to play with.
