X-Men 3: The Last Stand Update Thread

fuck Juggernaut. I think he's a bad-ass character, but without a ton of CGI, his appearance will be disappointing. I would have prefered Iron Man or Gambit to appear in the film.
And isn't Colossus Russian....AND GAY???
I don't know about the gay thing, but I was really surprised in X-2 when he didn't have a Russian accent. In X-Men: Legends 2 (Xbox), Kitty Pryde makes a reference to her being with him, and gets jealous when he makes a compliment towards another female character in the game.

The Ultimate version is gay.

Post of the Year. Hands Down!

I just got some cool X-men 3 pins at work and was thinking about selling them as a set. Then I saw them on ebay already!

Now I'll probably keep them as a decoration or something.
Too bad there isn't a Magneto, Juggernaught, Prof. X, Colloussus, Iceman, or Pyro! Maybe a different theater chain got those?
I've seen ... doh ... two trailers for this and I think it looks pretty awesome. I just ... don't like Juggernaut! He isn't very big at all! When I think Juggernaut I think ... this big ass leviathan. I mean, in the trailer he's a big guy ... but that's it. He's a just a guy who's big.

i.e., he's big for a regular guy, but not big period. Do you know what I mean? I mean, couldn't they have done some CG or something to make him a giant?
Too bad they couldn't get someone like Kane or the Big Show.

Hey i never got into the comics but have been wanting to, is there a compilation book or anything like that which would be a good starting point for getting into it.
I can't elaborate too much but you can start to see the first cost of Storm being more important/Halle getting an expanded role in the newest trailer. Let's just say that funeral is for someone rather important.

Wow, someone on the internet posting supposed knowledge of a film that is months from release, and in all likelyhood not even finished. I trust him!
it's pretty common knowledge here in vancouver, where most of the filming was done. it's kind of hard to keep a secret when you have a crew of around 2200 people. let's just say that certain actors were deemed 'too expensive' to bring back for a possible, but not likely 4th installment, but ms. berry is somehow indisposable.

2 questions: how important is storm? was halle berry really the reason you liked the first 2 films?

if you're a fan of the comic, you'll hate if the rumors i've heard turn out to be true.

Dear god the only real arc I can think of that would need Storm would be the Morlock storyline. That wouldn't even need the rest of the team.

Update OP with a small article from Hugh Jackman (Wolverine)

Seems like the rumor to the wolverine movie might be false after all. Which is good to hear, he easily has done one of the best translation of any super hero character from book to the screen...

Think you could elaborate on the bolded text? I haven't been keeping up w/ the rumor mill concerning this movie and I wouldn't mind knowing. If it involves potential plot details, would you please include spoiler tags? I personally don't care but I'm sure there's ppl who don't want to know.

EDIT: Also, I just saw League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (don't ask :puke: ), and I actually liked how they designed Mr. Hyde. True it was a bit plastic-y but given a few years since the movie, it shouldn't be that much of a stretch to make Juggernaut just as big, if not bigger w/ special effects & CGI.

Basically, most of the rumors I've heard have said:

Cyclops dies within the first five to ten minutes of the movie, at the hands of Phoenix. Then, by the end of the movie, Chuck and Mags are dead. Basically, they're lining up that if a fourth movie ever does happen (which is very unlikely because this is supposed to be a trilogy), Storm will be the true leader of the X-Men, solely cause Halle wanted an expanded role. That's why I say fuck Halle.
That's why I say fuck Halle
dont mind if I do. I will go see a 4th movie if they have a certain cajun in it. That will be the only way they get my dollars.

I read in Wizard that Gambit is in this movie but gets a small role and may be either good or bad.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot that's messed up. :bomb:

karsh nailed it. halle berry is probably the biggest reason i refuse to EVER see this piece of crap. the writing/directing team also is largely unimpressive and i'm glad they caved to such a stuck up talentless diva. but yeah, berry threatened to walk if she didn't have a larger, more important role in the film and series. i say screw it, let her walk. she's replaceable. the others should be indispensible. like i said, if you're a fan of the original comic (i can't vouch for the ultimate as i've never read it) then this movie will be blasphemy.

in case you're still skeptical about the rumors, note the lack of cyclops, professor x, and magneto in the promo pins, as well as much of the other promo materials.
And Juggernaut still looks horrible. Oh well I guess they can't all be winners.
fuck this movie for ruining one of my favorite characters.
I hope that Gambit is secretly in the movie and they're just waiting to surprise us.
Seriously.. where the fuck is Gambit. Thanks for leaving out my favorite character, movie producer jackholes.
is no one else disappointed by no nightcrawler?
You'll hafta take that up w/ Alan Cumming as he was supposedly difficult to work with... then again, I heard that the makeup was quite uncomfortable so I suppose I'd be an asshole too.
is no one else disappointed by no nightcrawler?
I would be, but they made his character lame, aside from the opener of X2 that is.

Nightcrawler was the best character in X2 IMO.... I bet Alan Cumming was fed up with that talentless bitch Halle Berry getting all the producers' attention.

Christ.......this movie looks like it shaping up to be one of the worst movies of all time. They have the most retarded list of mutants they could think of.

They should have just left Juggs out if they couldnt think of a way to make him not look like such a god damn douche. Gambit would have been easy to do in my opinion.

Christ...i almost hate this movie already

lets hope its at least half way decent.

this movie would have to try hard to be the worst movie of all time... catwomen still holds that title strong.

20th Century Fox has provided Superhero Hype! with an exclusive new image from the anticipated X-Men: The Last Stand, hitting theaters on May 26th. The picture features Multiple Man (Eric Dane), Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), Magneto (Ian McKellen) and Pyro (Aaron Stanford)!

This article backs up what scorchs article was about:

Shuler Donner on the X-Men Franchise
Lauren Shuler Donner has served as producer on all three "X-Men" films and ComingSoon.net/SuperheroHype.com caught up with the prolific movie creator recently. She wouldn't give up any info to the X-Men: The Last Stand, but did say, "It's a really good movie. It's the best of the three. I can only tell you that. I think it's going to be huge. I am thrilled with it. Just thrilled with it."

As far as more "X-Men" films she said she hopes it happens. "Our original goal was to have like 'Star Wars, 'X-Men' 7, 8, 9 and 10 because there are certainly enough comics out there. And of course to have spin-offs. It would be nice as we incorporated new characters into each movie if they could continue to move on."

Speaking of spin-offs, Donner did confirm Wolverine is in the works and wouldn't say if a director is attached yet or if other characters from "X-Men" would appear in the film.

But, the industrious producer did tell us she's trying to develop another comic book into a movie.

"It's a DC comic. It's for Warner [Brothers]. It's 'Metal Men' which is much more like 'Men in Black. It's miles away from 'X-Men'. It's lighter and it's fun. A lot of CGI. That would be fun for me to try a whole did kind of comic."

Is that Multiple Man in the photo? It looks like he's wearing Wolverine's leather jacket.

for those of you hoping for a fourth installment of x-men, ratner is starting to confirm in interviews that it is a trilogy and this is in fact the final movie. there may be character based spin-offs (wolverine, magneto is rumored too), but the last stand does in fact mean the last stand. sorry for those of you waiting for gambit.

Lets get some quotes on this stuff. Dont start saying things without having the source. It has been looking quite the opposite from the producers:
"As far as more "X-Men" films she said she hopes it happens. None the less, the xmen site is now live. Pretty cool site if I say so myself...

ok, i only saw ratner's quote in some article i read. they didn't clarify. here's ratner's quote:

"We wanted to make sure the audiences knew that this was a trilogy. Even though they weren't made together like Lord of the Rings, this is really closure for the X-Men series. ... This is the last stand for sure."

by itself, it sounds like it's the end. i looked it up on wiki...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Men_3

Fox Filmed Entertainment Chairman Tom Rothman said The Last Stand is the end of a trilogy, but not necessarily the end of the X-Men film series: "These three movies work as a trilogy. These characters in this relationship, it's the culmination of that saga. It's the culmination and the resolution of those relationships laid out in the first two movies." In a recent interview, Brett Ratner echoed Rothman's comments: "We wanted to make sure the audiences knew that this was a trilogy. Even though they weren't made together like Lord of the Rings, this is really closure for the X-Men series. ... This is the last stand for sure." [2]

so it's the end of the first trilogy. i can't find the article i read the ratner quote in, but they didn't clarify that producers wanted to continue. in fact, it said that only character and spin-off type movies would follow, so it made it sound like this franchise was dead.

Thanks for the info Dark, I see what your saying. I think there was talk to do a magneto movie as well but who knows whats actually going to happen. Either way some part of the xmen franchise will live on!
