X360 elite: wait or buy?

I was all hyped up reading this analyst information that the x360 was gonna drop at e3.

I'm wondering if I should just wait or try to buy with some sort of coupon deal? Unfortunately I don't see any good coupons or discounts right now.
 
Yeah, as Kendro said there are sayings of a price drop to $450 to as low as $400. Plus, it's not that long of a wait... it's only like another month.
 
If you can't wait make sure to buy somewhere with good price match - BB or CC typically. I got one last month and my 30 days is almost up, but it's been so worth it - especially with the HDMI out (the main reason I picked the Elite vs the Pro).
 
Wait. A price drop before the holidays is inevitable, and with any luck it will happen in August.

I'm after a premium myself, but it needs a drop first.

i jumped on it a month or two ago at cc when they were giving a controller and fuzion frenzy 2...i shouldnt have gotten the plan though since micro now gives 3 years...o well

Seconded, my new elite hardly makes a peep, and I tend to check the hardware on and off between sessions (out of paranoia), and it doesn't seem to be giving off much heat on either the console exhaust/plating, or on the power brick.

Tell you one thing though, price drop or not, I've had mine for a full week now, and I fully stand by my decision to do so. I've been cranking hours out of this thing daily, and online.

If you're itching, get it now. As much as the market won't really bear the $400 price much longer (let's face it, the Xbox360 has been underperforming in sales to date, no matter what MS PR will tell you), Microsoft wants to ride out the Halo and GTA train with a $400 ticket price. I'd guess that we'll get a price drop in February, though maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
 
Apart from the possible/rumored price drop in August, are there any upcoming deals on the 360, preferably premium or elite? The free year of Live is decent, but free controller and game (assuming it's not crap) is better.
Can the Elite output HD via component?
Do you have to buy the wireless bridge to go wireless?

Even with a disc in the drive? I've found ours quieter without a disc
but the disc drive itself still seems to be a bit noisy. Not a deal breaker or anything...
