the hdd is pretty new, i got it off a broken elite.
but don't worry i try it on other x360 and the hdd is fine.

i also formatted it so it is clean.
btw no transfer cable sorry.

if this is true and the OP doesnt respond, then i think all you can do has been done. post in his thread with the gouge. im sure if it's not true or there were other circumstances then he'll post a reply.
