  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Because we already have BK on 360 and there's not much else Rare that Nintendo doesn't own the rights to that I would want to see.
new IP? I know its not Microsoft's way of doing things but who knows, eh?

Edit: Ok, it wouldnt be new IP if its BK, but it can still be an brand new BK game, with new game mechanics.

Well the thing said Rare classics mentioning BK and Perfect Dark which makes it sound like they just intend to put old games on Le 'Bone so we can buy them yet again.

How was the Mordor DLC for anyone that got the SP? I know I'm waiting for SO SP (even though it's killing me) because it's not very long and the MP is so dead. Just wondering if SoM SP may be a full price purchase...

Given this week's sale, I have lost hope of Capcom discounting Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.  So I went ahead and snagged a pretty cheap copy off of Amazon.  This likely means that it will be cheap during the next big sale that they do.

I'm a little iffy on getting the REmake when it comes out.  I own for Gamecube still.  But I've played pretty much every RE game except for RE6 and that means I'll likely get it....when it goes on sale of course.

I don't think it's worth the full price purchase. The first big dlc, lord of the hunt, is COMPLETELY standalone. Nothing you do has any consequence whatsoever in the main game. I would have liked to see maybe earned runes carry over, or something. Anything, really. When I played the dlc my main game character was pretty low level and the character they give you for the dlc has all max stats with all skills. So it was pretty cool to experiment with some of the higher level skills to see which ones I wanted to focus on for my main character, but other than that, I didn't get much out of it.

I don't know anything about additional future dlc, but as it stands now, I don't think it's worth it just for lord of the hunt.

just my opinion. I bought it for $16 and don't regret it yet, mainly because I'm still hoping for new stuff in the future. But I played an hour of the dlc before going right back to work on my main character.

There's been a few early reviewers live streaming the Resident Evil remake and it looks amazing. I'm sold for sure.
Definitely. Game informer and press play both gave it a 9.5. Haven't seen any live stream reviews but I'll check some out.

iirc, game informer gave the Master Queef Collection a 9.5 at release...
it did deserve a 9.5. Its a fantastic collection that unfortunately had a horrible start, but GI gave it the benefit of the doubt because they knew what it would be once all the MP issues were fixed, and they were right.

Now that right there is the definition of quality reviewing.

yeah lets give the game a 3 due to temporary issues, and then a month later when everything is working properly, lets amend the score and give it the 9.5 we were gonna give it in the first place. Brilliant.

Only took three months for it to be mostly functional, no one will buy the game off that review in the mean time only to be disappointed!

three months? It came out in mid November, and before Christmas it was working properly for mostly everybody.

I'm not excusing 343 for the shitty initial mess, but you could clearly see the game was pretty much going to be a diamond once all the issues were worked out. This is a game that people are gonna be playing for the duration of the X1's lifespan. You had to know no way was MS or 343 gonna let those problems go unchecked for very long.

OK a a month and a half. For some reason I was thinking November.

Whether a game's a 9.5 now or not reviewing a flat out broken game for what it could be is the definition of shitty reviewing and a complete lack of integrity. Reviewing it without testing it's main component that the majority of the people are buying it for under actual release conditions is irresponsible at best. Sure they have harder deadlines than a pure website but then you ought to push it to the next month, they do that all the time. Instead they pushed out the review which makes no sense since they can't even use the excuse of selling issues since you can't buy the magazine on it's own. Nor do they have a website on which they can update the review and score.

Kotaku is the epitome of shoddy click bait internet writing but at least they either delay their reviews until they can properly test the core elements of the game or put up an in progress review that gets updated and rewritten as the game gets patched.

I suppose that's all asking too much though when there is only a loose smattering of integrity in games "journalism". At least movie critics don't call themselves journalists and they still don't give disjointed movies glowing reviews because they feel confident the director's cut on DVD will be amazing.

Were the MCC's problems due to actual problems with the multiplayer code or was it stress on the servers that wouldn't show up for reviewers given the small number of people using it at that time?

afaik it was mostly problems with the MP code. There were some server issues, but a lot of shit was patched client-side.

Also, Feb. preview dashboard is out.

Friends and I are still having MCC problems. You don't give a broken game a high rating because it would be great if it was fixed. Give it a low score then update the review when the game updates.

Unfortunately they cant with Metacritic not allowing revisions, and a lot of companies go off of that for things like bonuses since they know a lot of people use that site. Also, I still play MCC near daily and it's far better than it was at launch now.

That's a crappy excuse and a crappy system. May as well just bend over and get paid if you're going to score things because that's what you want on Metacritic. Taking Dorito and Mountain Dew money wasn't classy but at least it was obvious he was being paid off.

I meant as in that's how the system works, never said it was good. Personally, if they were able to change their scores, I'd far prefer that system myself as well. It just sucks that with how it is now, that's not really gonna happen. Sadly it can go both ways, games can get a 9.5 even if they are broken since they are expected to get fixed, but then they can also get like a 5 because it's broken and then once it is fixed they still don't increase it

Yep, whole system needs to die in a fire. Don't think there's a single source I actually trust their opions on that still uses scores.

I like that Kotaku goes with "Should you buy this game?" instead of a scoring system. They just post way too much fluff to keep me visiting regularly.

It doesn't matter it's a halo game and it deserves a 9.5.

End of discussion.

Edit- You edited your entire post before I clicked quote. :whistle2:O

To be fair most of them probably only ever played MP with each other or the devs in near perfect server conditions. Not that it's an excuse but that's what happens most of the time with these reviews and MP.

I don't and won't bring the quality of this thread down lol

you guys don't deserve it :p

I probably had the best halo match on blood gulch CTF

We literally played for 2 hours straight and I finally capped the last flag towards the end, was cracking up so hard lol every attempt we would fail to capture that damn flag.

It was freezing up before literally almost everytime while we waited to get more people to join

Trying to figure out what to start next... Finished SO, finished SoM... Deciding between Metro, Halo MCC or GTAV. I think I'm going to play Metro. Not sure I want to play the Halos again. That's such a time suck. I only got H:MCC and GTAV because of the M$ KSR glitch, anyway.

So, to sum up, RE Remastered should be awesome.
the screen shots on the xbox one maketrplace look like crap, real grainy. Kinda reminded me of the RECVX remake........

I'm guessing it's just a port with 1080p resolution with no real work on the graphics being done. I'm gonna wait on some reviews first before pulling the trigger.

That's what I said too. Then I read the game informer review as well as the press play review and they both gave it a 9.5. That was enough to convince me to preorder.

oh I hope it is good, That was one of my fav RE games. I can also see an RE0 remake coming out by end of the year.

And hopefully they will completely remake RE2 and RE3 some time in the future.

Yeah, you guys that are saying that the MCC is fixed are like totally right. When I search with a team of 4 now it only takes us about 25 or 30 minutes to find a match. And we only get split up like 75% of the time now. And while searching with a team of 3 only takes like 15 minutes to find a match. Oh and sometimes we all only have to exit to the dashboard and quit the game 3-5 times before it lets up join up in the same party together. And I'm still not able to beat the Halo 2 campaign because one of the levels are glitched out, but I think that's just one of the cool new special features they added to the H2 Anniversary campaign. And the other day my sister betrayed one of our teammates, fell over dead and respawned on the other team. But again, that's probably just a new feature.

But anyways, I'm glad to hear it's working great for everyone else too. I was starting to think that I was the only lucky one.

Does anyone know if the GOD version of XCOM Enemy Within has enemy unknown as well or are they separate releases?  I can't figure out if it is an expansion or a whole new game?

Transparent tiles kind of suck in the preview so far. They aren't fully transparent. One of the survey questions suggests that they are considering making them fully transparent. Hope that happens by public release.

The achievement app changed and it isn't listed as a new feature for preview members, so maybe the app updated for everybody. Shows many more achievements at a time now.

From what I can tell is that it's a stand alone expansion so you get more or less the same basic campaign with the new content. If you want just the straight up EU campaign then you have to buy that on it's own. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Enemy Unknown is the first retail game.  It had several pieces of post-release DLC, such as Slingshot.  Later, Enemy Within was released with the DLC from Unknown and 'new stuff' (characters/abilities/missions) integrated seamlessly into the game's campaign.  Think of Enemy Within as a remixed version of Enemy Unknown.  There is no way to play the basic Enemy Unknown game or DLC separately in Enemy Within.  I own, have played, and finished, both.

15m isn't anything to be happy about though. A game like halo should never take that long

Preloading Evolve Open Beta now!

aka getting the progression grind to unlock new characters for the full game done now.

Thanks

I predict Evolve to do as well as Titanfall. So I will wait to get it for 12.50 around next Christmas. It lacks a single-player still, right?

If you mean playing by yourself alone, then I believe the Monster is your only option for true single-player gaming, unless you want to go with 3 AI hunters.

If you are talking about a story-mode, then they did say there is a story-mode in it, but haven't really explained it in detail.

It'll be like Destiny, where people with friends will enjoy it a lot more than those without, or those unwilling to make new friends.
